Owl Pharaoh was amazing and even the unreleased owl pharaoh material was great too.

DBR is another high quality project by a young visionary. He has an ear for picking the right beats and singing melodic hooks that you can't get out of your ear. His lyrical content is wild and at times controversial. Trav has taken things we like from Ye and Cudi and molded them into his own with a H-town influence. With this project only being 12 tracks who knows how much we haven't heard that would blow us away. Hoepfully he follows up with an album 1st or 2nd quarter of 2015.

He needs to make an iTunes exclusive version with a couple added songs. Its cool how he gave this away for free, but at some point I want him to make a profit so he can spend more money on touring and promotion.

Trav is the future of music. And for the people wanting a Cudi/Trav collabo. That has already happened, just need one of them to release it.

Finessinnngggg, finessing...I can't go one day without finessing. :pimp:

Honestly the mixtape is surprisingly good. So much better than Owl Pharaoh it's not even funny.

Backyard :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

So is he telling the producers what to do????? Quintana pt 2 and Zombies don't like something Lex and Southside would do on their own......

This seems to be a common theme of the elite in the music business.

It's usually someone under them that's really the inspiration behind something.

Kanye did Cudi the same way. Drake is currently doing PND and The Weeknd the same way.

We all know about Dre. I guess the trade off is providing the artists with a platform to shine so I guess it's a win/win for everyone involved.
I think after a while, working solo makes you hit 'writers block', for the lack of a better word.

You gotta be around circles of people with different ideas and creativity to expand yours.

In the music business tho, you collaborate with people and its very obvious that Kanye heard Travis sound and felt renovated to shape it to his own vision.

This is what you gotta do to stay fresh and relevant in a business that is constantly evolving and changing.

edit- also, I've been listening to this tape for the past few days.

Its pretty nice.

This is hard as hell. Can't believe I've never heard of dude before a couple of days ago. It's weird how much he sounds like Kanye one second and Future the next though.

Metro Boomin is my favorite producer right now.

Hopefully this opened up some of the ears that were closed to Thug too.

edit: He also sounds DEAD ON Kendrick on that Backyard chorus.

Dude is a beast .... Happy more people are starting to enjoy his music , hope he takes advantage of the attention he's getting with this joint

MAN been spinning travis heavy. really cool to me is hes from the exact same area i grew up, Houston/mo city texas, i went to Dulles High School. crazy to see people from that area make it big. And DeAngelo Harrison, SG for st. Johns was the star of my high school, travis wrote the song "grey" for him and his brother Dre, who is locked up right now for murder.

maybe ima re listen to rodeo again, but nothing topping owl pharaoh for me. Bandz, quintana, uptown, hell of a night, upper echelon, bad mood

Tape doesn't have the impact tracks that Owl Pharoah did (Uptown, Upper Echelon) but god it's consistent as hell and it's more of the sound that his fans were dying for.

His sound is so dark, so evil, it's the perfect experimental trap style. Right now, where I'm at with my interests drifting around, this is exactly what I wanted.

I'm really feeling this project. I liked Owl Pharoah a lot too. Can't stop playing "Drugs you should try it" and "Skyfall" :smokin
