Nike's new RSVP process

The entire RSVP system was ridiculous to me. I have gotten through twice and that was for Xmas Kobe's and Xmas KD's I just hope I can pull it together for the 95's. Most of the reseller's have killed the game.

Always seemed murky to me...how they can reliably determine that is a question yet to be answered. I imagine 'speed of response' is a key factor in determining auto-scripting, but that doesn't fool-proof determine who actually used bots. Ultimately it's up to Nike's discretion, but that's a very fine line to walk.

they can tell who used bots, I know someone who had their kd pre heat order cancelled because nike determined that they used a bot, he even showed me the cancellation email with a link to page posted above. nike has finally found a way to track who is using auto add to cart bots and I expect to here about a lot of cancelled orders in the next few weeks, so if your using a bot be prepared to have your order cancelled, just trying to warn people ahead of time.

so then what happens to all the orders that are canceled? :smh:

i dont use a bot but this sucks even more some how

How can they determine if something was done by automation or if someone just guess the hashtag correctly before hand and send it almost as fast?

Eh, Nike just needs to implement a question and answer based RSVP program, man.

Definitely good to know.

I'd be down with quick Q&A. I wonder what happens when you've used a bot but have to wait in "eLine" anyway. I'm all for fairness, if we're all playing the same game.

and how can they tell? If that was the case wouldn't your order be cancelled.

How, though? Hundreds maybe thousands of people use bots....but we've only heard of 'two cancellations' so far.......So if they can really detect who's using bots, their system is doing a terrible job so far.

my order was cancelled, just didn't feel like saying so because clowns like you will will have a field day flaming people because their order was cancelled for using a bot. so my order and my friends was cancelled and we both used bots, that's how I know. keep using your bot if you don't believe me, I could careless either way.

I asked about that when I called to find out why my order was cancelled, they had no answer for me. they will probably just save all the cancelled pairs and do a large random restock like the one we had a few months ago.

they can tell how fast the item was added to cart. everytime you click the sz drop down box, the sz you want, and then add to cart you are sending out commands that their servers can pick up, if you complete those commands to fast (by using a bot) they can detect it, at least that was the explanation one of my internet savvy friends gave me.

The reality is there is only a 2 to 4 second difference from someone who clicks the twitter link and then clicks the drop down and adds their size.  vs. an auto add to cart bot unless you have one of the bots that pulls the twitter link early or right before it's posted, then your looking at a 5 to 6 second difference which will expose many people.  Some of the bots out there only add to cart and you still end up waiting in line to check out a couple minutes....so it's really a choice game for nike on who they want to choose to cancel their order.  They can track your ip address too....really this doesn't equal the playing field...it just allows for more cancelled orders that will be restocked the following wed. or thur that the same programs will scoop again....

The response Nike composed was out of necessity since the unfairness of bots being used is always brought up.

I would hope that Nike steps it up and starts IP banning anybody using bots, of course this means nothing to people who use bots on FTL and co.

There's no way they would IP ban. At the end of the day they still have forecasts to meet and shareholders to satisfy. They'll probably do audits randomly on this. There's no way they're going to go through all orders. I see it as the limited 1 per person ordeal. Some get more pairs and some get cancelled.

average gwam is 33

microsleep and account for data transfer and OCR processing = bots will still beat the Nike process

This is a joke. If you think this is going to change anything, you're kidding yourself. I actually think they're going in the wrong direction here.

Ever since Niketown changed the RSVP process I have been successful on every release (2-3 pair at a time). Where as before I would never get through, so Im not complaining about the current system. I much rather have my pair locked down, no line, and on release day than up at 5am trying to fight bots...

By saying that you really want Nike to stop selling shoe to 50% of more of people using autoscript (add to cart).  Nike CEO doesn't give a crap, he wants his market shares to triple up so he can go Cancun and chill w/ his honey!  They are not BANNING IPs.  Think logic my man.
