What an odd trade though. A's seem like a close-knit group. To trade a core player like that could backfire. And Ces went from title contender to home in October. I'd be pissed

As for us..since we only have JP, expect a situational lefty.

I guess the org is really down on Paco... and elbert is about to be DFAd. Sucks...I like/liked those 2. Its gonna be interesting what theyll do with the 25 man..who else gets DFAd...

Cardinals and A's making moves to play in the World Series, don't blame them.

Solid deal for Lester, Cespedes is a FA in 2015 and Beane knows all his FA's walk. Calculated move, half a year of Lester for 1 1/2 year of Cespedes. Rotations and bullpens rule in October and the A's have an above average offense even without Cespedes.

The Cards have been giving up spare parts, Joe Kelly and Allen Craig have both been underwhelming for them, and they got a serviceable arm for their bullpen.

Our offense is too inconsistent, our defense sucks and our bullpen isn't in the best of shapes.

Having an amazing 1-2, along with probably the best 1-3 in the game makes us dangerous. Wouldn't put A's vs Dodgers in the World Series in Sharpie, just yet.

AJ Ellis is a gift and a curse. Fan favorite, extremely likeable. However, below average both offensively and defensively. Would make an awesome backup, unfortunately he is our starter.
