Hopefully this thread is live, last years was kind of dead to be honest, despite everything going on with the organization.

Should be an exciting year...

Best Case:
- Win the West
- Kershaw continues to be the beast that he is and nabs his second Cy Young.
- Kemp regains his MVP form and leads the team to a possible pennant.
- Gonzales fixes the swing that was damaged by playing in Fenway, starts hitting the gaps, .300BA, 115-130rbi season.
- Hanley doesn't miss a beat after thumb surgery.
- Crawford becomes serviceable and capable leadoff hitter
- Jensen takes over the closer spot
- Greinke, Billingsley, Beckett form a formidable 1-4

Worst Case
- Miss the playoffs
- Donnie gets canned
- Kemp is still not healthy
- Crawford is still not healthy
- Hanley slumps due to missing two months.
- League is our closer
- Billigsley needs Tommy John

Realistic
- Win the West or a Wild Card spot
- Kemp will be healthy
- Crawford will be as well
- Ethier will probably get dealt to make room for Puig.
- Billingsley will be a middle of he pack, solid 3-4 but will miss time.
- Beckett is going to benefit from playing in a pitchers division.
- Kershaw and Greinke are going to be a solid 1-2
- Dee Gordon will probably be dealt due to not being able to takeover the SS spot.
- Luis Cruz will make you say: "You are who we thought you were", will be a solid bench player, but lose his starting spot.
- Juan Uribe will suck.

Overall it's going to be an exciting season.

hoping for a very good year

the talent is there pitching and hitting. we will see if everyone plays like they should tho

best case scenario: ethier learns how to hit lefties.

i doubt that dre (or crawford for that matter) can be traded with their contracts. might have to be some time before we get the puig show

Btw, Puig get ready.

Ethier traded for a 3B? I see it.

It is either Crawford or Ethier that goes whenever they call up Puig. I would prefer to keep Ethier between the two....just me though. Less injuries. He is a Dodger and fills the system well.

I am no longer living on the West Coast...so I always have to wait until they travel to my areas to watch a game. Cincinnati is the closest so we go there every year. Stay at the Westin with the players.

Added StL to it last year. And Wrigley field will be this years additional trip. Pumped for baseball to finally be here!!!

i agree. im not as high on crawford just based off his injury history. plus im a Dre guy  . I like his intensity too, and it looks like him and Bison have good chemistry. I just pray he figures out lefties this year.

I was reading an article Proshares posted in the MLB thread, it was about Puig, and the Dodgers owe something like $55 million to their starting outfielders this year.

******g baseball, what a great racket.

Just called the Dodger Stadium box office and the rep told me they don't even have any opening day tix if you buy season tix today :wow: :frown:

Not to nitpick this, but I think you have your idea about your closer wrong. Wouldnt best case scenario be League doesnt lose his job and actually pitches like a great closer? I think saying best case scenario that Janson takes over is silly because it essentially meants League struggles for you guys. I think best case scenario is League is a lockdown closer and Janson becomes the best setup man in baseball, no?

I think what you wrote about League losing his job and Janson taking over should fall into the "realistic" category....as League has lost his closer job multiple times in his career already. Janson's cutter is one of the filthiest pitches in all of baseball, so I never quite understood why Mattingly named League the closer to begin with.

I expect nothing less than a NLCS/World Series appearance. This team can get it done, they just have to stay healthy
