These recent Nolasco implosions have me concerned. A few weeks ago, he was talked about as the #3 and ryu the #4. Here we are, and its completely reversed. Hes losing money with every implosion. 3-33 seems fair at this point.

How the hell is SVS not in the lineup today vs a soft tossing lefty....svs at first and young at 3rd with skip and punto at 2b and ss...instead..hairston.

Nvm...nolasco just went billingsley. Moot point.on to tom...oct 3rd needs to arrive. With dre(and everybody else) healthy. No dambs given about these last 4 gms after tonight..no dambs given about hosting any series for gms 1/2/5/6/7 in the nlds..nlcs or ws. Just get there healthy.....there was a slight pulse for having hfa for the nlds...but once I saw young/ellis/hairston/schumaker/punto 4,5,6,7 and 8..........it reaffirmed donnies desire to get hfa in any series.

Kemp is seeing the ball really well right now, his timing must be a lot better. Very encouraging to see heading into the post season..

I don't like how everyone is dismissing winning these last fe games. Sure division is sealed, but the urge to win isn't a light switch. Braves, Cards, Pirates, Reds aren't beating the "lets just get healthy" drum.

^It's a fine line to walk, but I agree. If we take 2/3 from SF and sweep Colorado or take 2/3, I'll be ok.

Edit: seriously, Gordon? Rather take my chances with Hairston and then pinch run with Gordon if you want to get him in the game so bad

I only do that to mask the pain of losing to frisco on a national stage with punto/schumaker/hairston in the lineup st the same time.

Just to add, by everyone, I don't mean people in this thread.

You go on blogs, watch pre/post game shows and talk radio... same ******g drum being beat: "The goal is to get everyone healthy". No it's not, the goal is to play ******g good baseball. Recent history dictates that momentum is a ************ when it comes to the playoffs, and right now momentum isn't in our favor.

One of my good friends, long time Dodger fan tried to justify the drudgery of September by texting me: "I like the way Donnie is playing with the lineup and picking spots".

Me: "Picking spots?"
Him: "Working on situational hitting, seeing where these guys can hit, playing with the lineup and matchups"
Me: "Lineups suck, Gordon wont make playoff roster, Hairston shouldn't make the playoff roster, neither should Punto, Van Slyke is on the fence, and so is Schumaker, and they are getting significant playing time."
Him: "It's a game of chess"
Me: "Stop listening to Steve ******g Lyons'

Can they put it all together and make a run, yes, but reality is that no matter how good Matt looks the past couple of games it's against teams with nothing to play for, even the Giants. Ramirez and Ethier haven't played in forever, Crawford is mediocre, AJ Ellis has been playing like ****, even during the hot run. Nolasco has become Ricky Nolasco and the bullpen arms that have been relied on all year: Howell, Paco, Belisario are gassed and haven't been playing consistently.

Not that home field is extremely important, because it's not, just wish they would make the effort to try and get it to win some ballgames. Right now they are limping into the playoffs, literally. Knew the hot run came too early.

Who knows though, I still think we take the whole damn thing, :smokin

Man stabbed to death after Giants - Dodgers game in SF. :smh: :smh: :smh: :smh:

One man was stabbed to death during a fight, reportedly between Dodgers and Giants fans near AT&T Park in San Francisco on Wednesday night.

San Francisco police gave few details, but said the slaying happened at 3rd and Harrison streets about four blocks from the stadium and about 90 minutes after the Giants beat the Dodgers, 6-4.

The unidentified victim was with his brother and father who were wearing Dodger blue when he was stabbed, NBC-Bay Area reported. The argument began after a comment about Dodgers apparel, KGO-TV reported.

The victim was not wearing team colors, according to media reports. It was not immediately clear if others in the fight were wearing Giants gear.

Police declined to comment on a possible motive for the fight.

Three suspects have been detained, said San Francisco police Sgt. Danielle Newman. The stabbing victim was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues, Newman said. One of the suspects had blood on his shirt, according to KGO-TV.

The Dodgers and Giants have a rivalry going back generations. In 2011, it turned violent when Giants fan Bryan Stow was severely beaten in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium. Two suspects are in custody, charged with the beating.

Stow suffered brain damage and is still recovering.

Let's see if they make a big deal out of it like the Giants and their fan base made out of Bryan Stow.

Only difference here is that when you leave AT&T park you are on city streets as opposed to Dodger Stadium, where you exit the stadium and you are still on Dodger property.

Dodger parking lots are a gift and a curse.

I totally see what youre saying. ..thing is...the offense is so night and day with and without hanram in the lineup..and he has to be handled with care....unfortunately it's a doube edged sword. I want momentum, too...but 2 gms out with 4 to play...put hanram in a hyperbaric chamber till oct 3rd.

My main concern is that the bats will disappear for the Dodgers in the playoffs. These last couple of weeks haven't helped in easing these concerns.

They won't.
1) it wasn't in the parking lot
2) the victim probably isn't a firefighter

Id do that and thats at most.

he set the bar at 10/305...

Will "settle" for like 8/220.

ill take guererro for less even if he boras client(kinda over him, though, after the 2 false hope signings and now hes repped by boras)...

but id rather have him at sayyyyy..6/45 then 8/225 for 31 yo cano.

Prolly gonna be howie anyways with mark ellis/uribe/schu playing the carrol/miles roles.
