Was waaay too disgusted to post once I heard kemp was shut down...coupled with the dre uncertainty, man.....Its all a huge letdown.

I feel less optomistic with that news, and coinciding with the offensive funks this tm has endured lately...partly due to guys in n out of the lineup+coasting mentality+facing tough divisional foes...

having skip out in center is fine by me defensively..but it does NOT bode well for offense...he will play the entire series in CF..and for that reason, yasiel puig CANNOT lead off...this changes the lineup drastically.

the pitching lines up as is..

kersh vs medlen(r)
Grienke vs minor(L)
Ryu vs teaharen(r)
Nolasco vs f.garcia(r)
Kersh vs medlen(r)

SVS bettet start gm 2 in RF with puig in center.

Gm 1...puig should be moved down to at least 2 if not 5...

Craw
skip
Gonzo
Hanram
Puig
uribe
A.ellis
m.ellis
kersh

if u move skip lower, the lineup becomes very top heavy.......so losing dre is a buzz kill.

Anyhoo..the only reason im not panicking is bc of the pitching and how it lines up. However, If u use kersh twice and win...grienke starts the nlcs and u may have to use kersh on 3 days rest his 2nd appearance...nolasco cant be trusted rt now.

HOPEFULLY....dre can at least PH in the nlds and be ready for the NLCS(if applicable)......

Outlook for LA...somebody needs to step up in a crucial spot...or gonzo and hanram are gonna have to carry the offense....(puig hitting below .200 lately)...

go blue.

Skip in the 2hole and comfortable with him at CF? Versatile doesn't equal good.

Team will be fine. Sucks not to have Ethier, I won't say Kemp simply because that's been the story all year.

^^its the only way to "hide" his weak bat...

If craw gets on, u can just use him to pull the ball on the ground and set up the middle..not exactly comfortable with skip in center...thats his natural position, though...if it was up to me...id just plug in svs for every gm dre cant go...more pop with the same average and bapib..screw it..but u know damb well donnie wont trust puig in center with svs in rt over the long haul....

**if craw doubles or gets on and stls second. I meant, in regards to skip. Either way, m.ellis does the same but hes pretty average vs righties so u may as well...and u cant have 6,7,8 of ajellis,skip,m.ellis...if donnie goes puig,craw,han,gonzo,uribe....thats top heavy and if they fail to produce...were asking alot out of 6,7,8...

Im just hoping for kersh and zack to go 7 ip 1 er each and get 3-5 runs minimum gms 1 and 2...hopefully.

You're better off going top heavy than spreading yourself thin. You don't "hide" bad bats at the top of the order. You need those guys to set the table. Not trying to sound condescending but that's baseball 101.

Well, I meant a slap hitter. .Not a terrible hitter. If youre medlen..

once u get past uribe(5 hitter) with nobody on...theres less pressure to have to pitch perfectly. Personally, id rather have a middle of the order of hanley, gonzo, puig or at least puig, gonzo, hanley 2,3,4 which was the case during the run..but without dre, u have uribe 5th and then a bunch of slappies(skip, ellis, ellis). Personally, I wouldn't bunch slappies together at the bottom like that. Again..if dre was playing, u could go with the same lineup as the 42-8 run...

medlen is on fire right now...6-8 is like a sigh of relief at this point once u get past uribe.

And isnt your #2 hitter primarily "supposed to be" just a contact hitter, anyways?

Either way....like I said earlier...this series is gonna come down to kersh for 7/wilson/kenley...grinke for 7/wilson/kenley with paco or jp howell facing heyward or freeman in big spots.

hopefully...we can get to medlen and minor early and not give these guys life and confidence as it is well known that beating kersh and grienke are the keys to the series for them.

Last we heard..PH role to start and wait and see as series progresses.

So skip it is.

times not announced......patiently waiting.

Was gonna say it earlier, but congrats on Winning the NL West, we coming for yall next year

Kemp has yet to undergo surgery or announce possible dates for surgery on his shoulder, could he be holding out to see if the Dodgers make the World Series?

I know they said he'd have to stay off the ankle for 4-6 weeks, but is there absolutely no chance of him at least pinch-hitting for a potential World Series?

World series is scheduled oct 23-31...so that would be the 3.5-4 week mark since he played in frisco and flew back to la for col.

Thing is..its kemp. And saying "shutting him down for the season" doesn't inspire much hope.

well be lucky to have dre for gm 3 in la(starting CFer), let alone the nlcs(if applicable*crosses fingers*)

Wouldn't count on Kemp or Ethier at this point.

We win in five against ATL.

Sunday start rumored to be 5:37PT

Still need a PH bat off the bench, he won't see the field though. Gordon over Hairston, good move, Hairston brings nothing to the table at this point. Capuano made the roster, :smh:

^i was suprised Cap made it too, but i like him better than Volquez for long relief, plus hes left handed

I've gone from feeling good about our chances to now concerned because of the injuries and how they played during the last stretch of the season. But at least it's finally here.

No more wondering or speculation.

With the offense struggling heavily, all the pressure will be on Kershaw and Greinke. Both of them need to have outstanding games, and its not Greinke im worried about, its Kershaw. Don't know how he'll handle the pressure.

And you know Bud Selig is praying for the Dodgers to make it to the World Series.
Braves/Pirates NLCS = same excitement as an Astros game.
