Wilson exercised his player option already.  Of course he would. Nobody was giving him 9.5 mil in the open market.

Thanks Ned...

No one was going to give him that $9.5 mil for sure. Guess we're stuck with the beard for another year.

i know wilson was having discomfort earlier in the year? hopefully he regains form in a contract year..

even though dee some what got it going in game 4, would have really liked to see turner in there for some offensive spark.

Ya it's terrible our best bench bat only got 2/3 ABs the whole series. I understand our bats were bad but as a manager that's your job to shake things up and make the correct decisions. I hope we can get Scioscia because I think he would fit great with our roster.

After the year he had, doubt the Angels let him go.

They have problems of their own, but it was a great rebound year for them after an atrocious 2013.

Joe Maddon is wishful thinking, plus he isn't conventional, which means he'll clash with whoever Kasten hires as GM.

Frankly, I'm surprised Ned has lasted this long. New ownership had a chance to clean house and they kept him, maybe it was because of his Lieutenants, but even they are leaving now. (DeJon Watson left to the DBacks)

Hey, I hear Kirk Gibson is available...

j/k

I think it's going to be a very loud off season, just my opinion. No insider info,

I can see Hanley leaving, or staying and moving Uribe. Crazy to say this, but with one year left on his deal Uribe has some value. If they want to keep Hanley it's going to be as a third baseman. No point in having Uribe on the bench. Otherwise, Hanley will be wearing a different uniform.

1b- Gonzo - Safe to say he is coming back.
2b- Gordon- Solidified his spot for 2015 with a solid 2014 campaign
SS- Hanley - Only way he comes back is as a third baseman.
3b- Uribe - Saeger isn't ready, he has one year, he actually has value. If Hanley stays, Uribe is gone. More than likely, Hanley is gone and Uribe warms up the hot corner for Saeger
OF- Puig - Not going anywhere
OF- Kemp- Rebounded in the second half, is he all the way back, don't know, but he's not going anywhere either.
OF- Crawford- Produced and stayed healthier than expected. Will be a starter in 2015.
C- Ellis - Terrible anyway you slice, should be a backup and practicing for his next role... bench/position coach. Hopefully we bring Martin back. Yeah, yeah, some people soured on Martin, but that is because we had high expectations, look it up. Martin at his worst is better than Ellis at his best.

Bench
OF/1b- Van Slyke - Will have a roster spot if he isn't moved.
OF- Ethier - Needs a new home, hopefully one is found.
UT- Turner - Local kid, breakout year, will command a good deal. He parlayed his 2014 into a multi year contract, doubt he returns
C- No Catcher on the Dodgers is worth writing home about, Ellis should be our backup catcher next season.

There will be a youth movement, with Pederson and Guerrero marked to make the 2015 roster.

Yup, Hanley has to move back to 3B or let him walk. Any average def SS wouldve made that play in the 7th. Wouldnt care if he walked. His constant grimacing is also getting tiresome. Would prefer a decent hitting defensive SS. There's enough offense on this team even without him. Waiting for the 2-run HR in October just doesnt work. Well, unless you're the Cards and facing Kershaw and our bullpen.

welp we can pump the brakes on the new coach talk

Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles said he's "hearing Don Mattingly's job is safe."
Saxon also notes he's unsure about others within the organization, likely alluding to general manager Ned Colletti. There was some thought Mattingly might get the ax after his high-priced and talent-laden Dodgers club bowed out in the NLDS, but the thought is that he's got some fans in the upper ranks. Mattingly signed an extension with the club in January, and his current contract runs through 2016.

hopefully ned is out.

After being a day removed from elimination, and taking some emotion out; I wouldn't be mad at Donny coming back. While he obviously made some questionable calls/non-calls, I think the core players still believe in him.

Ned, on the other hand, has to go. Honestly though, who wouldn't want to be GM for the Dodgers? Ownership won't be willing to continue to fork out 200+ mill per season, but their dedication to building a constant competitor combined with of course being in Los Angeles is pretty sweet.

Yeah. Ned gone is more of a priority than Don. Players love him so it's not a surprise he's staying. This is make or break it for him though...

****

Well hopefully Ned is gone. He's the main reason Mattingly didn't have anyone reliable to go to in the bullpen. How many terrible contracts do we have next season?

Yeah. Getting rid of Dre and Carl to make room for Joc would be ideal. Carl can still play at a high level and has some value. Maybe an inept offense like the Mariners will take him

Crawford has to have some value to some idiotic team?

Eat most of his salary, get an arm, watever.

Keep seeing articles today that we are shopping Puig and Oakland and Cubs are interested. This can't be life, right?

I realize he had horrible postseason, but it's way too early to give up on him. Trading him now I feel would be a huge mistake.

Pure click-bait.

It would be a disservice to not listen to what people are offering, but I highly doubt the FO is out there trotting shouting BRING ALL OFFERZ HERE NAO!

Ya sports radio was giving out Puig/Stanton trade scenarios, not going to lie that sounds great but I'd doubt that'll happen

Puig for Stanton is a pipe dream, unless you incude Pederson, Lee and possibly Seager.

Puig is very raw, Stanton is already polished. They're both exciting in their very own right, Stanton is already a face of the franchise type player. Puig can get there, but he's not there yet.

I'm sure you can move Crawford, he has value, his problem is staying healthy. He misses two months out of the year, on average. I don't get the rush to hand over the job to Pederson, would love to have him coming off the bench and replacing Crawford when he's injured. He needs to earn it.

Ethier needs to be moved, bought out (aka released/DFA'd). There's no room for him and his bloated contract. I wish he brought something to the table, but he doesn't carry a glove worth talking about and he has the same platoon splits as Carl Crawford.

Starting OF next year should be Crawford (LF), Puig (CF) and Kemp (RF). That is a solid OF any way you slice it. Top it off by having Pederson and Van Slyke coming off the bench. I'm not the biggest fan of Crawford, but he earned his spot with solid, timely hitting in September.

Catcher and Shortstop need to be addressed. We don't have quality players at those positions, at least defensively at SS and both offensively and defensively at C. Yes, Ellis has a good rapport with the pitching staff, but he ain't cutting it. Russel Martin is available, bring him back.

Bullpen needs to be addressed and a 4th starter that is consistent. Haren will be a 5th starter unless he declines his player option... doubtful.
