He wants ridiculous money and yrs for someone who's 32. Pass, unless it's for 2 or 3 yrs MAX. He frames better than AJ but kersh loves AJ...full circle, I tell yah if he comes back. Personally, I don't see it happening. The catching FA market is weak, though..so the options a limited (none). and there r zero catching prospects worthy of a shot. But think twice about overpaying for someone ppl wanted run out of town 5 yrs ago. And is 32...I can easily see russ getting paid, and then regressing hard. Guess we ain't go no choice. =/

Yup....Russell Martin at .240/9/55 looks like God compared to .188 hitting automatic out/black holes.

It's hilarious how somebody on this team won the cy young and today the NL MVP , the 1st time since Bob gibson in 1968 an NL pitcher has done so...and not a single mention of it. I'll say it....congrats, Clayton. Moving along.

Unfortunately all these accolades wont erase his 7th inning meltdown in game 1. It might be unfair but the majority of baseball fans will no longer be sippin the Kershaw kool-aid until he does it in October. So 11 more months... :nerd:

Word...agreed cuz it's all simply trivial at this point. Like, we all know how good he is...but that damn meltdown and that damn Matt adams.

So I heard were going after jed Lowrie to replace hanley... yay. =I

SO true. Unfortunately, it's mostly what I'll remember as well and I love that guy.

Don't worry. You'll have a cute nickname for him by spring training.

Funny how everybody wants him now when a few years ago dodger fans wanted nothing to do with him

Russell bombed hard at the end of his Dodger career. Was still cheap enough to keep and allow him to rebound. Most Dodger fans don't know their head from their ***.

Would take a regressed Russell over a career year AJ Ellis.. When the only reason you are kept on the roster is because "Kershaw likes him". That should tell you something. Give him a 10 year deal to be the bullpen catcher. Just don't touch the field in games that count.

Front office still laying low right now...I can imagine Friedman and Co. in a room with spreadsheets and boards with names of every single player in the Dodger organization on it.

Probably a trash can full of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf or something too....

It's looking that way. For some reason they are confident with Joc as starting CF.

Someone has to go and Kemp is the only one with trade value. I guess we just have to hope we get a good return. I wouldn't be mad at Tai Walker.

Hanley and Kemp in Seattle?

A lot of the M's fans didn't want Hanley in SafeCo. As someone who grew up a M's fan, I wouldn't mind seeing Kemp in Seattle because he's still one of my favorite players. At the same time I would hate for the Dodgers to trade him just to dump salary, they need bullpen arms and Seattle has a plethora...

Who do they put at short now?

Dee?

Suck it up and put Rojas there knowing he'll play good defense but not hit?

I see some team throwing a multiple year deal to Justin Turner

HanRam to the BoSox, :frown:

I knew he wasn't going to come back, but man, still sucks.

Always injured, but electric when he was healthy. Thanks for 2013, if only you didn't get plunked in the ribs.

I would hate to see Kemp go, but it's one of the few moves they have. He can actually bring something back. Crawford is serviceable, despite injuries, but has zero trade value. Ethier is useless, dead ******* weight. They should just send him out on charity appearances for the rest of his career. Hey, at least the chicas still buy his player t,.

I think they should trade Dee Gordon, while he has some trade value.

C Find a Catcher
1b Adrian Gonzales
2b Justin Turner
SS Find a Shortstop
3b Juan Uribe
RF Yasiel Puig
CF Joc Pederson
LF Carl Crawford

Market is thin, so trades will have to be made.

Martin getting $82 million is only funny until you realize that AJ Ellis is your starting catcher...

What kind of contract do you think Justin Turner will command?

I know Joc is supposed to be the next big thing, but he looked lost af when he was up with the team. I'm sure it'll get better with more practice, but he's not ready at all

He's arbitration eligible. He is under team control.

2 years @ $6 million with mutual/vesting option for year three @ $3.5 million ($500k buyout).

People will have to be prepared to deal with the growing pains of having an unseasoned stud in CF... Hello 2006-2007 Matt Kemp.

Of course there will be growing pains, but I still think it's a tad bit too early for Joc, unless he absolutely kills it in spring training.

Keep Dee, hopefully last year wasn't just a fluke. Having somebody like that on base changes the game BIGTIME and whoever is hitting behind him will enjoy all those fastballs (hello puig)
