Would hate to see Kemp land in the division. Heck, would hate to see him in another uniform. I don't think he's done proving he's back personally.

Just deal either for some prospects and let Crawford and Joc split time with a little Van Smash mixed in. If Joc becomes real deal then let Crawford and Van Smash just kick it on the bench for pinch hitting (what they both excel at anyway).
 
Smart move to deal Gordon when his value is high. Friedman is the anti-Colletti. Gordon is the poor mans Juan Pierre, don't wait until his value bottoms out.
 
problem with dealing away Dee is the team will lose a lot on the bases. he was practically the only threat we had on the bases. and i know his production fell off in the second half, but you dont deal away a good player away unless you have someone who can pick up the load. are turner, guererro or barney as a whole better than what dee offers? cause they would have to not just fill dee's spot but also hanleys

Of course Zaidi denies Kemp & Dee rumors last night. :lol:

There's so many crazy rumors out there. Hopefully they make a deal soon to get the ball rollin...
 
Hamels/Rollins deal gaining some steam.

Why trade Dee? 1. His value is high 2. Pretty much at his ceiling 3. Alex Guerrero is a second baseman, getting paid big bucks and untradeable due to the deal he signed. He's also going to make the ML roster in 2015 4. We need a catcher and a SS more than anything.

Hamels/Rollins for Gordon/Pederson/cash and probably one or two more players.
 
OBP for Dee was .326 last year. Could it be better? Absolutely. But I'll take that with the speed he provides on the bases because knowing somebody is a threat on 1st or 2nd, changes the pitcher's mentality and pitch selection to the hitter. Whoever is batting when Dee is at 1st base is going to get a lot more fastballs. It throws the pitcher out of rhytm sometimes and causes mistakes Cuz he's so worried about the guy stealing a base, especially in close games

If they can get something good for him in return, yes. But it's not like he's making 15 million a year or anything

Dee is under team control for 4 more years

Just saw the ticker. He's been rumored to come here since last deadline and was willing to waive no trade clause since he's a Cali native. He's in the wrongside of of 30 but it's already a major upgrade defensively over cement feet Hanley.

rollins is a stop gap player...Seagers development will determine if he'll make the show in 2016

Nothing to write home about-except....we all knew hanram was a coin flip to return..he's gone....so we were left with the proposition of arruaberrena/rojas/jed lowrie type propisition...on the surface, I think...how do u replace hanrams power. I thought about it...and I tell myself, say they resigned hanram. You get, what, 100-130 games out of him? And the others will be with Miguel rojas at ss. Power from SS is a luxury...he's a good clubhouse guy and knows how to play the game..so I can't be upset considering were only coughing up 2 pitching prospects (lower level, hopefully).

It's just....where do u replace the run production. Keep Kemp. Gonzo HOPEFULLY doesn't fall off a table at 33. Puig hopefully becomes a 30 HR guy. And trade 1 of dre/craw..preferably craw while eating a chunk of the remaining deal. Shore up the rotation with a solid #3 to drop ryu to #4. Can we really count on 2 36 yr Olds on the left side??? I dunno....and Catcher...well, that's another post for another day.

Fix the bullpen and I think we'll be fine. Maybe get a more reliable #4. E.Santana would be nice but probably asking for too much. Dont need power hitters 1-8 to win it all. We're close. Just need to avoid playing the Cards in October...

C. Bullpen is already full with overpriced arms (League, Wilson). Be glad they got Nicasio and Peralta for peanuts.
D. if only it was that easy.
 
Man not sure how i feel bout jimmy, one year left though coming home should be a good look.

Thats the best we can get for dee?

I feel confident in this new approach friedman n co are taking, it seems as if they kno what direction to go and not just throwing $$$ out there cause they have it
 
Seems like they want to get rid of players that have a high value right now. Kemp better bring more than just Grandal >:
