Official Bape Thread

But the standard of living is higher I believe...

Its harder to earn 10000 yen than 100 USD

Is Bape cheaper in Japan?
Yes! Bape is much cheaper in Japan. So much so that even after international shipping, you can still save at least $50 on things like sweatshirts and it only goes up from there.

ie. tees are ~$64 in Japan vs. $93 in NYC; camo hoodies $230 vs. $355; shark hoodies $270 vs. $417. Add on sales tax if you live in NY and it really gets ridiculous.

If you guys don't already check BapeTalk, we have a great guide to help you buy anything you want from Japan, including Bape's Japanese webstore and several other authorized Bape retailers. There's tens of thousands of items on several auction sites as well.

Does anyone know when the rest of AW '14 is going to drop?  I've been waiting on a few pieces but haven't seen any updates on the online store or anywhere else.
New items are released in Japan every Saturday ( we also post pics of all items on BapeTalk).

Great update. So pondon is still profiting pretty well with their prices. I want to get a few of the spongebob pieces off there.

^ It's fake.

Neck tag is off and that beige strip covering the seams around the neck shouldn't be there. Overall poor quality.

Yeah I thought overall it just looked funky. Especially the stitching and what not. Don't buy a lot of bape so I wasn't too sure. Luckily I didn't get em. Thanks again!

gotta be careful. nowadays everything gets replicated and clothing is no exception. in fact it is probably way easier to replicate clothing over shoes.

To those who are good at spotting fakes, is it easy to tell that this one is fake just from looking at it from afar or first glance? For example, is the camo and/or colors way off or would you have to look at the the smaller details like the size tag in order to tell if it's fake.

I know there are guides and whatnot that help you figure out if an item is fake but I guess my eyes aren't trained enough to know for certain unless I get a second opinion.

just gotta experience it and compare repeatedly. ive been buying nikes/jordans for years and will still not buy (usually) outside of footlocker or some legit spot so I don't gotta worry about fakes (im paranoid about that )

Edit: Yeah you're right. Just saw the announcement for Vancouver.

That sweatshirt is allover the bootleg sites.

Usually the ape head is a giveaway and the tag and stitching

They opening up a new store in Vancouver?

And nyape nyape , I'm pretty sure it is, but you seem to be the expert on Bape. Pondon is legit right?

Yea but it's an AAPE store not a Bathing Ape store sadly. On another note some of the new 2014 A/W collection getting released looks pretty dope! I have bought 2 items from Pondon off ebay and things are definitely legit and packaged well also.

Gotta say, the Aape stores all look great. Personally I find the clothing cluttered with logos and distasteful, however I hear quality is on par with mainline Bape.

Any other official sites to get bape besides the bape store and pondon? I checked that bape talk link but I was confused like hell with all that. Also, does the jackets run small too? Like a XL fits like a L? Any info would b appreciated.
