Its the day before the season and I couldn't find a Mets season thread so here we go.

Hopefully the young guys continue to show progress and this transition year can be a positive in a suprising way.

Can't wait for the rest of Omar's screwup signings to come off the books after this season.

Actually looking forward to this year...we'll suck obviously but a lot of development and I believe this team is taking the right steps toward development in the future. Hopefully D'anraud and Wheeler come up this season and flash potential.

im looking forward to the pastrami sandwiches at the stadium.
nothing else really is going on this season.
so sad.

I will say im glad management has been trading and getting rid of dead weight and bad contracts.

Sandy said last week that if Wheeler and d'Arnaud aren't up this year it's going to be a major disappointment

keep this thread updated good sir, I didn't make a season thread last season and the title wasn't updated for months ( ._.)

Just want to see us get better and continue to develop.

I hope op can stay on top of updating the thread title. Last years thread died because we sucked but also last years op disappeared.

Development and seeing the young guys get a chance to play and improve as all I'm looking for this season.

It seems like sandy has a long term plan as opposed to Omar's lets overpay so and so quick fix mentality.

Things look much brighter now which is something I couldn't say about the mets for a while.

If anyone's down to make it to a game between Thursday and Sunday hit me up. It would be cool to go to mcfaddens and have a few beers then go to a game.

If I get any responses or interest I'll set something up.

Not really much to bank on for this season, but letting some of these young players for the future grow is the big key.

I was wondering if this thread would happen.

No expectations for this year. I like what Sandy's done with what he inherited, the restrictions he had and injuries, etc. I'm not the spend, spend, spend on free agency type of fan but I hope with the Wilpons saying the checkbooks are open, they'll make some positive moves in the offseason.

This season...today was a fun start. Sad not to have Johan but I can't say I didn't expect it. Hopefully we'll see Wheeler by the All-Star break, I know there's stipulations with call ups and arbitration eligibility so if they can hold off on him, they might as well. If Buck stays healthy, I can see them waiting on D'Arnaud til Sept.

I like our infield, I like Niese & Harvey as top 3 types, Gee as a 5th. I'm concerned with the health of our pitchers. Our outfield...not a bad start but they don't really inspire a lot of confidence as a whole.

I've been a die hard fan my whole life, would never give up but I'd be lying if I said the amount I care hasn't changed. I'll just see how the season goes and enjoy what I can.

Harvey will beast this season.

Ike HR over Shea bridge, Duda hitting the Pepsi Porch off a lefty :pimp:

If Wheeler is better Harvey then we are going to hell for that robbery

Sandy is not going down for this by himself

Great to see Harvey dominated out the gate. His subtle confidence is great for this organization.

Going for the sweep tomorrow against the lowly Padres. Step on their necks!

2-0 and Harvey lookin good. I'll take it.

Just landed in JFK, I'll be at the game today and possibly tomorrows game. Tix are dirt cheap on stubhub for the most part

Justin Turner is trolling with that "call me maybe" walk up.

Ike off to a slow start outside of that homerun last night.
