Sucks that it will be on during the Finals but hey that's what DVR is for.

Wow, what a way to start the season. Hannibal gives no dambs.

Scully looking even better as she ages.

Nice start to the season. The jumping around in time kinda got on my nerves though. Interesting score, kinda had a Clockwork Orange feel to it bouncing from electronic to classical.

Yeah I wasn't feeling the time jump either. What's good with my dude Will Graham though! Surprised we didn't get any of him in the premiere.

It was a very unorthodox premiere, especially considering the S2 finale. What makes this show so great to me is the spectacular writing, dialogues and the visuals. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and intend to watch it again. Best show on tv right now imo.

Not including cable networks, this is indeed the best tv show.

I think this might even be the best cinematography of any network tv show ever. I can't remember another show that looked so good on film. The last show I can remember that looked so good on film was Miami Vice (for it's time).

The show is called Hannibal so I can understand why his character was front & center for the first ep. Previous season dealt with Will Graham as the central character almost.

Feeding him snails that fed on his arm. :smh: :x

Good 1st episode.

The preview at the end got me hyped

Good first episode. This show is visually stunning. I found myself having to rewind to understand Hannibal. Lol.

Hard to believe its been a 13 month wait bruhs. But its finally here. Amazing as ever

And the double-entendres at the dinner scene...

I also liked how they absolutely had no mention of the other main characters in this episode... the tease... keeping everyone in suspense for one more week (at least)!  Well, the show is called Hannibal after all... not Will.

The use of the 2:35 aspect-ratio during the flashbacks was pretty cool.

What was with the torso at the very end?

This was a great ep but not really a great premiere especially if you wanted to check out the show the first time or even if you binged S1  This ep didn't skip a beat and it was almost like it was just any other ep in the middle of a season. Picked up off the S1 finale with no lagging. Overall I do feel it was a good idea and approach for the entire ep to mostly be Hannibal and Bedelia (Gillian is so damn fine) with barely any mention of Will and everybody else (except for that one flashback scene).

They did a great job showing how easy it is for Hannibal to adjust and move and in his new cover in France. When that dude tried to play him like he was better than him after Hannibal showed off dancing and then he just one upped him quoting poetry in a whole other language  Shows Hannibal can play that game too. Almost thought dude was gonna die but I guess he's still might be next.

They definitely jump around the timeline a lot and I was following it fine until they jumped back to Bedelia killing her patient which is an event that's only been talked about and predates the start of this series.

I loved the Hannibal and Gideon flashback scenes and I think for all viewers it would've been easier if they kept the flashbacks in black and white. It was great to see him really reflect on Hannibal feeding Gideon his own leg and then arm. Them dwelling on that kill was a really good idea cuz last season it seemed like Hannibal fed him his legs to get back at him and then he eventually killed him. That he had the time to go back to him and really spend time feeding him his body parts just shows you how thoroughly sick dude is. The different ways he did it.

Liked getting in to Hannibal's mind a bit more. Thinks he's not a cannibal cuz the ppl he's killing and eating are not his equal. All but clear in S1 but it's interesting in hearing him say and how he describes it. Ego maniacal, arrogant, and pompous as **** but it definitely has a meta comparison given how humans eat other animals in the fashion they do. Plus it shows how he's willing to accept others as equals like he thought Will was on the road too while on the other hand he seems to just have a fondness and interest in Bedeila and she missed out on that being equal chance cuz she's always so shook around him since not being his therapist anymore.

Only thing that slightly had me lost is who was the guy badmouthing the curator to Hannibal that then showed up (months? years?) later for dinner that almost thought they were swingers ( @ it looking like Hannibal was down but said no for Bedeila's sake) and then him basically being wise to Hannibal being a killer since he figured out killed the dude so there'd be an open position. I get the idea that he may have been a killer too or maybe on some blackmail tip since Bedeila set it up in that way but I didn't get. If she wanted to use that a distraction to flee she was really dragging her feet.

I get the feeling in many ways she's more along the way than Will was and actually enjoys killing but is scared of Hannibal and herself too much but still likes being close to him.

Bonsoir.

Was that torso made to look like a heart at the end?

That's what I thought at least.
Yeah, I think so... maybe... I guess with the inter-cutting between that and Hannibal folding the paper heart, that was implied.  I'm also assuming that it was that poet guy...

Gonna need to rewatch that scene... and screencap it.

These bastards tricked me again. I fell for that explanation of Abigail being alive so easily. Then come to find out my boy Will on his Dexter dark passenger hallucination steez :smh: I don't even know why I wanted her alive. Just so Will wouldn't have took all those Ls in the finale.

Great ep. I badly wanted Will and Hannibal to just meet right there.

Wanted that Italian inspector to die the way he was so insistent. Thought it was a wrap once they entered those catacombs.

Really like more of the opinions and insight on Hannibal as well with the writing.

Loving the approach of re-introducing the main cast with every new ep.
