HANNIBAL NBC | S3, Ep13 "The Wrath of the Lamb" 8/29/15 10/9c

Yea, that was definitely Dr. Bloom.

Gonna serve her liver to Jack Crawford w/ some fava beans,

Hannibal gonna eat before Will ever has the chance to.

Btw, Mads Mikkelsen is ******* GREAT as Hannibal.

Well to be fair Mads has had a ton of episodes to flesh out the character & give him more life. Hopkins ain't no joke. He brings life to even the most mundane movies/characters. Very few actors bring his level of gravitas. Ya'll acting like he's chopped liver (with fava beans no less ).

I do love Mads though. He's nailing this role. I couldn't imagine Hannibal would've done that with Beverly though. :x As heinous as it was, it was kind of evilly elegant sculpture... :rolleyes :\

Agree that ahop's interpretation is not to be disregarded. It's just two different takes on the character and both are much appreciated.

Again amazing tv, did not want it to end. That "masterpiece" by hannibal damn :x Too bad that orderly only got like 1 episode to shine crazy character.

That black elk figure still creeps me out every time it pops out.

Hate that the teaser spoiled how morpheus connected the dots with the doggie bag tactic. Anyway cant wait.

Yo, **** that creature.

And yea, I didn't like that, either.

One of the best episodes so far. :wow: at what Hannibal did to Beverly. I still wanna know what she saw...

I thought Hannibal would have seen it coming

Dude got the drop on eml. Swam a lap with GOAT and almost killed him :pimp:

Why is Gideon helping the dude used him/set him up to get killed?

I feel like he knows Hannibal is the LeBron of this, and wants someone worthy, like himself, to do the job? I mean...I don't wanna say he feels bad for Will and knows this'll be the last hit that knocks his sanity out, cuz I doubt he has empathy for anyone.

Hannibal's face >*

But I doubt that's how he figures it out. That's A LOT of body parts to prepare. And it would be really really stupid for him to go to Hannibals house after that

I'm thinking it's the bullet hole in the floor :nerd:

I though he only took one trophy from his victims? Leg and liver/kidney from dude...and why swap them out :nerd:

A1 episode as usual.
Its kind maddening when you think how True Detective became mainstream so fast and few people watch Hannibal :smh:
Everyone was watching True Detective. And so few people tune in to Hannibal. And Hannibal is on network TV.
The only reason I can come up with is that True Detective had a Hollywood star attached to it (MM)
I really liked True Detective but I can say without a shred of doubt.......Hannibal is the better show. TD comes in second.
The visuals, characters, sound, story..............my god I love this show. I will cherish it forever and never forget it.

its conceptually and visually stunning. seems like every episodes cost a couple millions to make. acting is just as good if not better than True Detective.Incredible show

The production value for the show is top notch but the photography of the show is the best I've seen on TV in a long long time. I can't think of a TV show that I was impressed with visually as I have been with Hannibal.

That's the thing that worries me though. It probably costs a lot of money to produce this show. If the network doesn't see a return on it's investment, i can't see them continuing with the show. If it does end up getting canceled, I'd like to see Netflix pick this up (or a platform like it).

This show really is too good to cancel. I'm still amazed they show why they do considering this is on a broadcast network.

AXN covers most of the production costs of the show, so NBC really isn't getting hit hard in that department.

Also, several countries like Germany, Switzerland, UK and Australia bought the rights to broadcast the show in their countries, so unless the show goes full Dexter in terms of quality it should be around for a while even though it doesn't pull in huge ratings.

Don't forget the casting

Even the casting of the serial killers is good

I've said it before this show just isn't promoted. How many late night interviews have you seen with the cast? Mainstream wise Morpheus is a pretty recognizable name

Literally no one I mention the show to knows or ever heard of anything but the movies. And sometimes they mention Dexter and I'm like  he would literally kill/eat him

It's season 2 and this thread is 9 pages  :smh:

This show being on NBC is a gift/curse. Shows on Netfilx,HBO,AMC etc pretty much have cult followings the fans promote them death. Outside of comedies and the typical dramas NBC doesn't have that even then it's not the same.

No way the show goes downhill because the source material is too great. Supposedly they hit the manhunter storyline next season and then into the silence of the lambs after that.

I wonder who they have in mind for clarice.

I don't want to spoil anyone not familiar with the books/movies

So

It's obvious Morpheus survives that stabbing.... I'm just curious how they pull that off while having Hannibal get away at the same time.

It also stinks that they weren't able to clear the rights for the black orderly character. He should have been there from the get go.

Wait, explain the second part of your spoiler.

Quoted in an interview from last year

CraveOnline: What about Barney? Do you have the rights to Barney?

Bryan Fuller: We don’t have the rights to Barney. We asked for them, and we do have a Barney-like character in Season 2, but we were denied the rights to Barney.

What about the actor? Can we get Frankie Faison in here?

Yeah, he’s played the character in… three films?

Yeah, and he played a different character in Manhunter, so it would be nice to see him in “Hannibal” at some point.

I would love to get Frankie Faison in this show in some capacity. But he’s actually on another show, and so we weren’t able to get him to play the Barney-like character.

Did you try? Was that the idea?

We looked into his availability.

That would have been awesome.

Yeah. Of course he was busy, so he was unavailable, and since we couldn’t get the rights to the Barney character we’re adjusting the character slightly, making him a little bit younger and perhaps a little more opportunistic.

I also forgot that they don't have the rights to clarice either

How eager are you to get Clarice Starling into the series? Would we have to wait until you get to The Silence of the Lambs, or were you thinking about teasing her earlier?

Well, right now we don’t have the rights to the character.

Oh, really?

No, no, because MGM has the rights to any character that originated in Silence of the Lambs, and Gaumont has the rights to any character that originated in Red Dragon. So there are a few characters that MGM has told us, “No, you cannot have [them], because we don’t know what we’re doing with them.” There was originally going to be a Clarice Starling series, but I’m not sure what the status of that is. I’m secretly hoping that by the time we get to Season 5, which would be the Silence of the Lambs era, maybe some deal could be brokered between Gaumont and MGM where we could co-produce a series that has both Will Graham and Clarice Starling in it, but I just don’t know if they’re ever going to let us do that.

You could offer them the spinoff.

Right? Right?!

They could just put that on their channel, and bam. Bob’s your uncle.

I would love it. I would love for this to be as canon as possible, given the departures that we make. But if we don’t get the rights to the Clarice Starling character, we will introduce a similar character, Shmarlice Shmarling, that won’t get us sued, that will give us the same dynamic that that character is. Because she’s such an important character to the canon, and it would be a shame not to get her, so we’re hoping. But that bridge is far, far off yet.

Well damn. >D

I'd honestly be alright with no Clarice in it. I mean she's iconic, and I'm sure they could give us something that'd hit harder Jodie Foster's and Julianne Moore's. But that's the part of the story that most feels already done, so if they had a different character, it'd only make the show more of its own kinda singular thing.

Like I can't even let it into my mind that Edward Norton played the same character Hugh Dancy is playing.

I won't stand for this Ed norton, Anthony Hopkins, and Jodi foster slander

But it's also wild how that tabloid lady was Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the movie

I'm happy I never read the books and that the Hopkins/Foster movies really don't feel connected to the movies that came after with Norton.
