Lmao did you schedule?

Taking mine monday in baton rouge...

Its been since june I put in for my secret clearance..aint a quick orocess and i have no criminal history

Hell yea man. When I checked on his status and they closed, I was like...ummmmmm.....so is this a good thing or bad? I was like no way in hell it finished that quick and is going to be a positive thing for me.

Before my last contract ended, I had filled out my re-investigation paperwork like 9 months prior since my 5 years was coming up. I wasn't about to be off a contract with my clearance status up in the air. Luckily me and the PM were cool and she talked to the corporate security people and they got to work on it. I got notice about 6 weeks before my contract ended (another company won) that my clearance came back and I was good for another 5 years. New company came in playing hard ball on numbers with everyone (everyone but like 3-5 people).

Called up my previous employer to find out that my old team leads and managers were senior level management, directors, and PMs. They slid me an offer with a raise to come back and rolled out  :nthat: .

I watched a dude take forever with his clearance. He had like 6 brothers/sisters and he was trying to find all of their addresses and stuff

Another guy was from the Ivory Coast and his parents still lived there and he knew his brother was state-side but bounced around, so he had to track him down for a legit addresses to document. I believe he also had to turn in his non-US passport and get rid of his dual citizenship. His took a while to come through too.

Yes....this is an accurate depiction of the BS one must endure to get them checks around here for this type of Employment. Inefficiencies everywhere!

2 months is considered quick too these days.

Clearances in the NCR/DC Metro area are ridiculous slow...moved around a lot? Minority? Family living overseas? Legal troubles? Debt? Documented Drug "Experimentation"? As long as you can explain everything in painful excruciating detail.....you will be okay.

Essentially you can do some "wild pyscho" s***, just not all the time, no pattern of reckless behavior and be able to speak to it...like why you did it.
Aye man I had to bold this for emphasis. I have noticed they like to prolong and stall minorities . I have been in process for 20 months for a dam TS (TS/SCI is the full clearance I'm getting). My co worker who is white and the same age has moved around just as much as me, but has more foreign contacts received his TS in 8 months , SCI in 6 months.

My other coworker who is also a minority waited 3.5 years for his TS/SCI . Its ridiculous.

Yeah man something is going on with these clearances when your a minority .
my supervisor who is a MAJOR in the army told me there are like 5-6 people doing security clearances for the whole United States... I dunno how true that is but its believable at the turn around time for some of these clearances.

He ain't lying...lol

I personally think they do this as well to play the game and ween certain people out that they won't want in.

But it is what it is....make it harder on them, play their game, learn it, beat them at it.....become their boss and hire your own "people"...the right kind of people.

Now that's change!

5-6 people? lol...He might have been exaggerating, but who knows!? It sure feels like it.

OPM and Agencies utilize Contractor Support for Personnel Security...which makes absolutely no sense to me. During the sequester and other times (budget cuts)....they were the first to go.

For example:

I had a Pentagon Building Badge from day one.....It took almost 1.5 years (ongoing investigation, sat on someones desk unworked for 6 months, got railroaded by a white GS-14 who actually lived near me in Fredericksburg, VA....saw him at the Turkey Trot that year and smoked him on purpose) for a simple Public Trust/NACI/NACLAC. It came through and I was taking a job in Sacramento, CA for FEMA.

How you going to give an Arab named person with firearms charges access to the Pentagon.....unsupervised, but you won't give me the permanent PIV/CAC to do Contract/Acquisition work!?

Popeyes and Hooping all day still!

Got people looking at me funny like "So when are you getting your clearance?" . If I don't get it I pretty much lose my job .

"Own family hand you some dust...."

These dudes here view you as a threat? Fine looking well dressed dude that ladies like? Play ball well on the Agency/Department team?

You younger guys think I'm joking....dead serious.

Dude warned me for hooping hard at DLA with the twins from Virginia Union against the General's Squad.....He had the twins banned from the base and my workload magically doubled in size.

Bruh!

Cold game.

Side note, I graduated from VUU and given it's size, it's always interesting when I see my alma mater mentioned.

I used to live near and eat/drink at Sidewalk Street Cafe all the time. Ben Wallace (VUU Alum) would always be in there. I think his Mother/Aunt ran the place. He was chill.

Brandon & Braxton I believe....VUU had some ball players for sure. They got into it with a female official on base and got banned as well. Good times.

Thomas Dale HS....powerhouse and Benedictine was too back in the day.

Richmond, VA has a lot of talent.....as does The Beach/7 Cities/757

The Byerson's [emoji]128516[/emoji] Yeah I was there when their older brother first transferred over from WV. Richmond has a flood of talent. I used to love watching the team run scrimmages with Ben and John in between classes.

i didn't think it would take so long to get cleared for secret and I didn't want to think that being a minority was going to hold things up, but I am starting believe it myself :\

True indeed....

I'm never one to fall back on that angle at all...but acknowledging that it exist is a wise move.

Took about 3 months for my cousin to get his secret.

They are killing me softly with this CR, I have training in Huntsville next week but I cant get it funded until they pass this damn CR. Now they're talking the DEMs may reject it because of the "MAd Dog" waiver. So we may have a weekend session but House is gone for the holiday. If it goes past tonight we will shutdown.

WE cant continue to operate like this.
