Props to the seller for keeping his composure and not beating the breaks off that loud moutheduscammer. Also props to him for taking matters into his own hands after paypal screwed him over. Hopefully the scammer ended up getting locked up, but all in all, good to see the seller doing what was needed to get his stuff back. i wish this would be the norm with online scammers.

so, is the guy going to jail? I'd be mad if I waited a year to recover something then had to drive miles to recover it. Charges should be pressed.

He got the engine but that wouldn't have been enough for me. I don't want to sell anything online now.

He filed charges and he said they were going to get back to him. I hope the guy goes to jail though. Its a shame he had to do all that in the first place though due to Paypals faulty policies.

I mean good for him and all but 20 hrs spent driving.... countless amount of time wasted going back and forth it's still an L.

As someone who uses paypal i believe it's ridiculous with the amount of **** the buyer gets away with but i'll be damned if i go confront someone in another state

Luckily I never got scammed for anything that serious. I did post my story of how I almost got scammed in the other thread

Even though it was waaay too much work, I'm glad he got his engine. I was scammed by someone in NJ and basically was out of luck. Good for him.

I fly damn near for free. If I were to get scammed by someone outside of the two states I live in I would go fly out to see them if it was a significant amount of money, if the authorities and powers that be didn't get my funds back. I probably wouldn't be as levelheaded as that guy was though.

Great to see a Scammer get called out and the stuff returned to it's rightful owner. The VAST majority of scammers and thieves get away with their crimes, so I really hope this guy gets nailed by the cops for this BS. Sad to see legit, hard-working people have to fight so hard just to get what's rightfully theirs in the first place. Thieves need to be shot. btw I'm a business co-owner (supermarket) so I know all about pilferage.

I would've had to try my hardest not to **** that ***** up

Glad dude at least got his engine even tho he still took a L

Google needs to make an online shopping/auction site to compete with eBay. One with less fees for selling and more seller protection.

Google Auctions at auction.google.com in 2014?

EDIT: And the audacity of these scammers. Do they have no shame whatsoever? You want to floss your ride with stolen parts scammed off eBay?

Google would literally cripple eBay/PayPal if they stepped in and started doing their own thing...

Either their working on it, or it doesn't add enough value to the company to add an entirely new division in sale...

Something's gonna shake in the next ten years though ... cuz this is getting out of control.
