I get to sleep in the week they drop that Elite pack.

And the lows are terrible. They should retro+ the 8 or 9 lows.

$275 is crazy? $250 for the Forging Iron wasn't crazy? All they did was add a lace lock. At least, this is a different shoe despite how wack they are (except the crimsons and the PE Bron was bricking in on Sunday).

Those Elites should be outlet bound. Whoever goes out and drops 275 on those grey Elites should be slapped silly.

Sticker shock is coming to these and the KD's. Kobe IX we've already been paying the premium price.

To be fair, that $200 price point of the regular season pairs would probably already be in the "premium" range, but yeah, I definitely see these and the KD Elites getting significant price cuts.

Yup. The Nike Factory store near me has been trying to sell the KD Elite superheroes for almost half a year. The stock is just sitting there. Not sure why they just don't backwall the item.

I don't do much sneaker collecting anymore.  My first post fellas, and I certainly don't mean to be so negative.

But doesn't it bother any of you guys at your core with things like the "elite" lines?  Gimmicks.  Less material, usually less overpriced synthetic materials (no leather anymore) that don't do all that much for protecting your feet to begin with, under the guise of being "more light weight".  It's been proven you don't run faster, jump higher, or anything with arbitrarily lighter shoes.

In many cases it's actually worse for you in a sport like basketball because of the explosive lateral movements the foot needs structure, and protection.

I also find it hideously degrading to the consumer that this already expensive signature shoe would go even more up in cost, with less materials, while at the same time the brand's current flagship athlete, the man who the signature shoe was "designed for" has barely worn them the ENTIRE season because of his dislike for the product.  Instead feeling more comfortable in the cheaper, basically team version of his own shoe line.

What does that say about the quality of Nike's current products?  They can't even build a quality product for their biggest, and best athlete.

People continue to buy them, even at asinine prices because of brand affiliation, or the athletes the shoes are attached to, or just for the sake of hype ... but quite frankly it's kind of sickening.

I think im gonna have to wait until the elite drops in the UK and see what the UK price point is and also more pics of the crimson elite b4 i make a judgement... but that sliver pair is a easy pass, the tongue looks very strange but need to see on feet shots to judge.

But one thing for sure is nikes description of the shoe makes no justification of the raised price point at all... and i feel the price could end up making me lean towards passing and letting my back account breath until the XII's

Krush you know I got you if you want them at us price b! I'm sure I can get even cheaper. But I deff see what you're saying.

respect man, cause at $275 converted to £ it isnt a bad price (bout 165) but we will see what nike does for the april drop, if they sit then will talk for sure bro

Ahh nice, so that's another reason for the price increase over the standard. So that's $25 each for the lace lock, bottle opener and they might throw us a extra pair of laces = $275.
The price point was a killer but I don't think even if the price was a little lower that would have swayed people since the regular XI's do look a lot better anyways.

Yay another random rant.
But it's about price, quality and gimmicks....those topics have never been discussed in threads on this forum!

Ill say it.

$275 is crazy.

Like actually clinically insane.
3 bills for a cheaper version of a shoe the star athlete doesn't even like, or really wear?  Umm, yea.  $275 in of itself is crazy.

It was nuts even in 2002 when Nike priced the XVII @ $200 upon the GOAT's 2nd come back, most popular player ever and already a lineage and pent up desire for his quality products.  With actual leather, durability, aesthetics, and comfort.

Now?  $300 for take down model to be more "light" and the guy who it's designed for doesn't even wear them.  The dumb youths continue to support it too.
