The upper started to give a little bit. But I also swapped a broken in lunarlon insert from my Aways into them. Because it was broken in my foot sat slightly lower and it relieved almost all the pinching from lateral shank. So, they did get much better from my initial experience.

However, I just realized how heavy and clunky they feel compared to other hoop shoes. Forgot them the other day so I hooped in some 2k4 huaraches that I haven't played in in years. Light, smooth, non-restrictive. Went back to elites the next day and it was like I put bricks on my feet.

So, the elites got much better after a few wears and the pain went away after switching the insert. But when it comes down to it, they're still the most stiff and clunky hoop shoe I've ever played in.

Well that makes me feel a little better about being so harsh on them when I did my performance review on them with the team model.  Sounds like you are disappointed like I am with them...I was feeling a tad guilty about not even giving them a full month on court before sending them away and going back to regular XI's but now I think I'm glad I did.  For the price tag they should feel great after only a couple wears, shouldn't be that bad period, I think I could've worn them a million times and it wasn't going to make a difference for my feet/feel/fit/comfort.  I still want to give the soldiers a try, maybe sometime in the next couple months.  

Hopefully it didn't effect your game and your team still won the league!

I don't know...pictures look good, but still doesn't make me want to buy them.  But I was never over the moon about the SB 8's or 9's like everybody else either.

If it mattress you Feel any better; I'll probably scoop a pair off the bay for under retail in a few months. DS or VNDS don't matter. For collection purposes.

additionally, the SBs lost a lot... and I mean a lot... of steam/momentum when nike allowed them to be ID'd. A lot of people got their SB kick out of their system already and a huge portion of people are happier with their creations vs whats actually coming out.

I mean, so many people made SB X s that the ID color sold out. Its the definition of a super GR.

There's truth to that as well.  For me personally it's the colorway, it looks great on shoes but isn't in my strike-zone for colors I would wear enough.  And if I can't see myself wearing them often I just can't buy them.  
 
guys, I got offered DS DB foams sz 9.5 and $100 for my DS 2k14s sz 10, what do you guys think aha!?

they def don't look bad IMO. just not buying them. so many shoes are coming out that I really, really need to be more selective.

Man :smh: .. lost big time to a team we blew out during the season. Live by the 3, die by the 3.

I wouldn't say I'm horribly disappointed in them. It's one of those things where they were so bad at first that when they got better I was really happy with that. But the scale was tilted so far on the bad hoop shoe scale that what I perceived to be "better" was still bad in the grand scheme of things lol.
 
IT's a simple answer yes it is a good trade, no it's not that great and a thorough explanation.
