I've been saying this for years though, I said it last year it was largely ignored, I said it this year back in December and people laughed, I'm saying it now, people are paying attention, and I will say it until he hangs it up. There is no jumping the gun here, theres 4 years of watching hundreds of games, at least on my part

Please lets not ignore the crucial fact that Steph is already miles better than Tebow and Lin. Reggie Millers legacy of being a legendary shooter started just as easy and not only was he not as good as Steph he never won anything either. You dont need to win a chip to build a legacy.... Hes not doing good, hes doing great. Did he not just shatter the 3 point record, not just break, he SHATTERED it. The man can shoot the ball, better than anyone I've seen ever. You can say you dont think the hype is necessary, but to compare him to Tebow and Lin? No B.

um no ....i understand you was feeding on the bottle one but after a few playoff games ppl werent ssaying reggie was the goat shooter. Hell after mj 63 performance no one called him goat.

Again, even if the numbers say he is on pace to do it, why are we making this thread NOW.
I am not disputing his potential of going down as the best shooter ever. At this rate, a case can be made no doubt.
But just let it play out is all I am saying. No need to hyperbolize things everytime someone does something great.
Again, I can agree that he can be that but we can wait before we hand out best ever titles.

If that was how things went we wouldnt be able to have the majority of conversations that we have here. Theyre all about the future whether it be immediate or distant, theres speculation in everything. "LeBrons not winning this year, hes not getting more than X rings, Westbrook will be the reason KD never wins" I could keep going. My first post in this thread was of his current stats and I followed it by saying he will go down as the greatest shooter ever. Thats speculation yes, but thats all I've done. I havent handed anything out yet. The furthest I've gone is saying that hes the best shooter I've ever seen and that means little seeing as how it just applies to my book.
I'm not hyperbolizing anything either. I've watched 80% or more of his games every year hes been in the league along with a good deal of his college games. I've seen the talent a long time ago and have been singing the same song since then. The only difference between then and now is that hes finally healthy, hes on a bigger stage, no Monta, and he has a coach that knows how to utilize his skillset.
This thread deserved to be made, he broke an all time NBA record.

And I think most of the futuristic conversations that sports fans have are baseless and pointless, but that is just me.
Again, the dude is a great shooter right now. But he has injury history so that alone should prevent anyone from predicting him ending up the best shooter of all time.

I lived in NC while he was at Davidson...we heard about him a lot...then came the NCAA tournament where he killed....so much so that Lebron made it a priority to make it to a tournament game to watch him in person. Anyway I've been watching his career since his last two years of college. I expected him to do very well in the league...so far so good as long as his ankles hold up. [/COLOR]

I never said there was anything wrong with being on his nuts at the moment. He's playing really well. But I already know how this is goes. Kyrie ain't in the same situation so while he sits at home while Curry plays everyone loves Curry. Next year starts and we see Kyrie then everyone loves Kyrie. It's a heat of the moment type deal. And that isn't meant to take anything away from Currys overall progression as a player. It's just that we only get to see Curry right now so there's a bias. So to get a more accurate comparison we should probably compare when they both playing. Not give the crown to the guy just because he's the only one playing. Kyrie had his fair share of huge games as well. But you may have forgotten cause he's not playing.

The Kyrie thing is the same thing at home for me cause hes from where I'm from. I knew about him from high school just because and have been following him since. Big fan of the guy, I just think Steph is better

I can someone understand slopping steph knobs...he is actually a good player. But to take a single season and a playoff and say he is a goat lol Same thing was said about penny/grant hill/yao ming/tmac so on and so forth. Its ok to use your brain..think for yourself. I know it isnt the "cool hip thing to do" but using logic isnt a bad thing. Steph has had a hell of a run...he is playing great as of late..(esp considering his injury) But let him accomplish a few things, do something for a long period of time before we start throwing goat around.
You wanna know what a hypebeast is...making a thread about a top worst player and praising him on something he did in a short stint...A YEAR AGO. A guy who has a week long of good games..and because of it his rookie card (at the time) becomes the most valued and saw after card in the sport. A guy because of a week full of great games....increase interest in an entire race 3x over in a sport based on a handfull of good/great games.. And a year later plays ordinary to sucks at best. Thats a hypebeast
But i get it...its the new norm...a guy can gangman style...drop pants on the ground etc... and overnight be the greatest selling artist...then a week later be an afterthought.
