Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept Revealed

I saw the second post and thought Da Heights Finest was back. Then I saw the date... Such a let down. The jewelry thread has been so quiet without Ninja.

Yah almost all the reviews are laughing at MB for calling it an SUV because it pretty much a raised up hatch.

Hell the GLA 45 AMG is actually considered a car by the US government because it is lower and not high enough to be considered a truck/SUV.

Yup, it's because Americans hates hatches but label it an SUV and it sells. (MB doesn't even want it called a CUV or crossover) :lol:

i actually love wagons/hatches/crossovers

matter fact just yesterday i saw for the first time........... a female in a brand new E63 AMG Station Wagon (silver with gunmetal amg wheels just like on the website)

wont even lie she looked bad ***, had her shades on.....i was behind her leaving the mall yesterday as we got onto the exit chick is FLYIN.....swichin lanes no damns given

car sounded great

I love hot hatches too and it sucks we are stuck here with pretty much just the Focus or Golf these days (not liking the new Impreza hatch).


The GLA is pretty much a raised up A-Class in Europe.

What's good with the GLE? MB been pushing it like crazy on IG, but some pics it looks like a ML others it looks like a coupe SUV (like X6). :nerd:
 
That's what I thought but wasn't sure when I went on the Benz site. Seems like they are following BMW. Audi is the only one that doesn't do this...yet.
 
GLA250 is about an inch lower iirc, maybe slightly less?

GLA45 is much lower though, it has 3" less ground clearance over the 250.
 
Definitely more of a hatch than an SUV/Crossover.

Benz about to introduce a GLC Coupe Concept in Shanghai (same place the GLA concept was introduced), while the GLE Coupe will compete with the X6, it looks like the GLC will compete with the X4.

Got black on black, I wanted it in white but most of it had options I just didn't want like grey leather with brown wood trim or brown leather with light brown wood trim.

I pretty much got all the options I wanted minus the red calipers (which isn't a big deal). Must have for me were:

The Recaro seats, nothing like it. Very comfortable and just locks you in place not to mention it looks great.
Second is the AMG performance exhaust, thing is a beauty to hear. Even on stop&go traffic it burbles so loud and at times it sounds like it is backfiring. Scares a lot of people. :lol:
The third must have to me was simply the panoramic moonroof, it's just a very nice option.

Other options that I wasn't necessary for me but still nice to have: Black leather interior, Nav which required the Premium Pack to go along with it and Blind Spot Assist.

Only option that kind of bugs me and I suggest you try and avoid is the AMG illuminated door sills, it's cool and all but it cost $800. :x Would have preferred to have the Red Calipers ($300) or the Night Styling Package instead (blacked out spliiter, side skirt, roof rail, diffuser, etc...) that cost $750, $50 less than the lit up door sills. Even the upgrade to 20" wheels is only an $850 option. :smh:

But you know it's hard to find that perfect vehicles with all the options you want/need unless you order it.

looks great. i feel you on the pano roof. it was a must have for me on my current car. i was even getting irritated with the salesman when he kept offering me cars without it.
