The Graphic Design Thread UPDATE: 1st post filled with info. 2nd with NTer's portfolios.

been without my macbook pro for 2 months now.
have to replace the logic board (500 + labour :x)

using one of those mini netbooks to finish a couple of client work & to get random designs off my chest. smh

Cool.

The work is dope.

As for the site, I'd drop your logo/home button by 50%.

Also, I'd drop the size of your section headers down in size. Showcase your work, not the hand written titles.

^ Thanks man!

Those are great suggestions, yeah I guess my headers are a bit big....

Appreciate it!

Also, checked out your stuff, pretty dope. I think my favorite is the "feeling stressed?" and the Not Graduating posters

Good stuff.

Tryna keep up with blogging things i find regularly.

Y'know i struggle with inserting an opinion and / or presenting something objectively. Do readers have a preference?

question for you freelance guys on here, do you guys use any web platforms to get work?

how much do you usually charge/get paid for a basic logo?

So dope. :nthat: Thanks for posting.

On another note, I'm getting back into art this year. I took a long time off before and after my divorce because I had to scrape by financially with cs and lawyer fees. I made a bad decision of leaving a graphic design job to briefly move, right before things fell apart and luckily landed a job as an art coordinator for a t-shirt and embroidery company, but it was out of town and too far from my children. When I came back to San Diego, the economy was ****** and I couldn't find work so I started doing whatever I could to put food on the table. That was six years ago. :x

In the meantime, I got into some more corporate lines of work and have come to realize that if I'm not doing art, I'm not happy. I've got plans to use some of my old skills to get back in the art field but I'm taking a different approach this time with my message and medium. I'll be back in here to show some of my work as I put things together. I don't expect to have much to show for another month or so, but I wanted to make myself known in this thread.

Glad to see an NT community of artists.

That's some good stuff... I've actually applied to some record labels hoping to intern and learn more about designing packaging for albums, ep's and tours and stuff
