But i'm talking about in respect to what hyped the foamposite shoe into the next "galaxy". Royals in 2011 2007 and 1997 people werent yelling outside of a mall "We Want Foams!!" and telling cops "I aint leaving the malle until I get my foams!!" and filling the whole parking lot with shoes to the point that the mall owner "SIMON Malls Ltd" had to say.. Galaxies wont be coming to my malls..lol So yeah.. the Galaxy was the "concord" of foams in respects to Hype or as we say.. "BGH" and "AGH" Before Galaxy Hype and After Galaxy Hype
In that aspect I still have to respectfully disagree. I'd say they were more like the OG Cool grey XI release, I rememeber grown men running under the gate and fighting for a pair of shoes, first time I ever witnessed that kind of *******.

I'm a newbie when it comes to foams. But when you talk about the death of the foams , are you saying that the quality went down? Or did the quantity go down?

I mean, for me personally; Red Metallic Ones and Red Pros are as close to an all red sneaker as a Foamposite ever has to get, so I'm good on this one whether they're spiked or not.

x2
With those 2 alone, Im good.

We are talking about the horrible prints and colorways that have been released lately! And the horrible prints and colorways they continue to develop! The low- top mold they are using also killed them as well as the absurd $250 price tag they now carry... I might be on my own as far as the price goes tho! When I paid $213 for Royals in 2011 that was the only shoe I would ever spend $200 dollars on due to the nostalgia... in that case $20 did not matter to me! $200 for Ones and $190 for Pros wasnt that much of a stretch!

The bastardization of foams... It's kind of a purist/elitist sentiment in my opinion. I think 90% of recent releases are terrible but I just don't buy them, then some people think Nike owes them certain colorways.

no lie, Im slowly falling for those Elelphant prints.
Im ashamed of myself :smh:

I might be willing to overlook the pink on it.

Thanks for the reply. I got ya. But to play devil's advocate , wasn't this inevitable? I say that because , is seems that lately all retro sneakers ( and modern also ) are coming out in crazy colorways. It just seems that the market has been trending that way for some time. Even JB has been going that route for some time. Although , i'm not sure if consumer demand is responsible or if the revenue generated by retro's has gone down. I'm no purist by any means , but honestly the colors don't really bother me that much. IDK , I guess I tend to gravitate towards the odd colors. Plus , catching them at the outlets doesn't hurt either. But I know how you feel. I used to be a huge  AF1 purist years ago , but Nike just kept ( and still does today ) flooding the market with AF1's. After that I stopped buying them.

Inevitable or not it killed one of the greatest shoes ever made! A main thing that made them great was the simplicity of the shoe... All the outlet bound prints are ridiculous and the fact that they continue to go in that direction is depressing... plus if I paid $200 three years ago there is no way in hell I will pay $250 for awful "Premium" print foams! They throw a graphic on the shoe that gives them the medium to call them "Premium"??? No thanks!!! Foams Are Dead and there is nothing they can do to revive them!

@HollaHollygrove  I see you from NOLA too , nice! But I feel ya. The only bad thing is , I don't see nike reversing this trend. The only way they can save the foam I think , is to put them back in the vault for a couple years. Let the demand build up again.

Off top 17th representative... But before 2011 Foams did not have multiple drops a year... 2007 saw multiple drops but they were good colorways that were slept on and after that one maybe two a year! Like someone posted earlier they have been bastardized! The multiple releases would probably be more accepted if the were without print and stuck to what made them great! Solid colorways... now some may say they have done all the color you could think of but I beg to differ...

Couldn't help but rep this for the truth to the T.

i mean you can say that they're dead but some of them still sell out, jet and camo come to mind of non-limited foams that didn't stick around, then when you say well we need solid cws concords are sitting with sales tags, but then people fuss about them pushing the limits like the black suedes which sold well but but bcuz it's not a pure, what is pure honestly? bcuz i only remember 1cent wearing the blue ones, no pink, yellow, white, stealh, CD, red, pearls, coppers, pewters i mean maybe its because i only buy what catches my attention instead of what people say but i've always been curious as to what is the "purist" in terms of the foam

its been said on here plenty of times.

To "revive" this "dead" sneaker, release some retro colorways.

which CWs is it that people want? seems the knicks cw is universally loved, i personally think they're ugly but i'm from TX
laugh.gif
but my point is that's a new cw that will sell well so why would nike not continue on their "killing" path, as long as shoe venders are ordering the shoes nike's gonna milk it and everytime people start to wain, nike just drop something insane limited to drive the hype back up and bring the venders back around

I get what you're saying, but at the same time "if its not broke then don't fix it"

Why stray away from what "built" the hype and love for the shoe and start going crazy with it? You tried it with the Galaxy, SOLD OUT, ok so maybe this is the route now, tried more prints, obviously not the route, tried suede, which did sell well not because it was suede i don't think, but  because it was all black. The wheats MAY sell well also, time will tell

Everyone loves the black eye stays and plain colors (concord foams have a white eye stay and the eye stay is leather), so why not retro those or remake them with a few tweaks like jordan retros? It sounds simple enough to us because well jordan brand does both, they make retro+ colors and retros. Foamposites get, Weathermans and thermals.....

See what were kind of saying now?

The Cool Grey when they dropped.. I remember being a line but no fights.. It was NOTHING like the 2011 "Concords".. Them ***** had people ripping doors off the hinges hiding in the bathrooms hiding in the trees.. kids coulda gotten "Ammonia" and the "get money boyz" were out stuntin on the news.

say no to hype.. keep bring out crappy foams then just let us NikeId the foamposites.. **** would be like heaven...lol

@CoOrdinate  nah i'm bored waiting to go to lunch so i'm trying to strike up good convo on a decent topic and bring more into the thought process instead of just the usally i hate what nike's done, these suck comments, you put a well thought out response that makes sense, i don't like the concords but it's not the leather white eyestay, them joints look like the poster child for free willie
laugh.gif
, now i do like the leather eyestays in black like they did on the black suedes, personally i hope the wheats flop so i can use mil disco

So I'm guessing

You are repped sir. It just seems like now there's only a few good cw foams that Nike put out a year now. I just don't have high expectations no more when it comes too foams. Nikes not going to put out a winner every time. I will say this year is a slight better (and i use that term) loosely than last year

View media item 1208684View media item 1208674 he would wear white foams occasionally.

didn't a lot of people sell their shooting stars though or was that just the penny posite part?

@blackmondays  you right they don't put out 100% winners in any one shoe ever, there will always be something that isn't for the majority thats a gr and it'll sit, another thing is the dead comment that alot say bcuz they don't like the cws but let them coppers release next yr and everybody gonna go ape nuts

me personally i've owned only 3prs CD, Pines(vnds for $140 would you pass?) and Whites, and honestly the only ones i truly like are the Whites, Wheats and the MReds which missing out saw me find a great deal on the CD ironically as far as prints i loved the Para's idc what anyone say's it was well excuted in design, but i wasn't "weird" enough to win a pair

I wish they had more solid colors like before they look way better compared to print foams, but that's just me, anyone else agree?

some prints i like  are the camo and fighter jet.. and i kinda like the safari too but i liked the yeezy pro's but they need to bring back the OG CW's again..
