Yeah... but you comparing two different things. a silicon wafer with actual metals, silver solder, a laborious mfg. process to setup dies, etc. to expendable/cheap media such as discs.  Your comparison is analogous to e-books vs. printed books. Inflation on $ 50 dollars from 1997 would be $ 13. If you don't think the gaming companies are saving  more $13 today to keep prices even you are foolish. 

Furthermore, what foam is 265 bucks today anyway? Labor isn't getting cheaper around the world.

nike is still paying people a dollar a day the only rising costs are their export shipping from china taiwan to the us and other places.. thats it...

You just proved his point, discs have gone up throughout systems and they dont even come with a manual anymore. How do you even justify saying only hype beasts and resellers understand that prices go up? Inflation affects your precious plastic shoes too.

manuals you can get online tho.. but in the us they just be doing us wrong.. when i would import MEga CD games or Mega drive games.. manuals were in color.. same prices...but in the us.. black and white.. but games were cheaper and on the pc.. they had BIG Giant Boxes.. even now they are smaller but the price of the games havent went up drastically.. if that was the case wed be paying Neo-geo AES prices for ps4 games.. look up the price on their carts back then.. it was the hyperbeast of gaming consoles..  and matter fact neogeofreak (theres a real site and a fake site and the us site were the fake site)was the Newyorkcompany of neogeo.. they would buy all the snk games.. Stamp their logo and sell for 5 times as much... they were eveil.. very very evil.

+1... I own both and will be passing on the mirrors. I would say I have a decent amount of foams but these mirrors are just awful. The reason why I think the pewters are better is because the shine is a bit more subtle and it doesn't have this gaudy reflective crap on it
 
What's retail on these? I bought my usual two ATC like most releases. Failed on DB8 and Frags, maybe I'll get lucky with these.

I agree on the Pewters having the sublety factor, but I do not consider the mirror's to be "gaudy", and I think almost 85% of Nikes nowadays can be considered gaudy. The on feet pics that have been released make them look great to be honest.

Gaudy is the DB 8's ... While the charitable cause alone provides enough reason to make the purchase, wearing them would be an absolute NO.

You sound like you've been around for a while.

Who cares if this crap propels some herbs to "god like sneakerhead levels."

Most of these dudes are johnny-come-latelys, and this is what I say about them - they got into this as followers and seek the respect of the people who influenced them. They spend an ungodly amount of money and amass a huge following in the process. The only problem is, the people who been there and done that - the people who they really want to impress - all think they are herbs.

I laugh at those dudes. The OG "sneakercelebs" laugh about them behind their backs too, while selling them stuff at prices they would have never dreamed of paying themselves on the other side. I know. I get texts like, "You know what that idiot just paid for my XYZs" And, then we laugh. We laugh when they act like they are getting hooked up by stores and the owners confirm that they paid full retail price.

So, "sneaker god, status." Please! These guys have an army of 16-year old followers - they fool everybody but the people whose opinions they actually care about. As far as those people, they spent hundreds of thousands to go from unknown, to objects of ridicule in their eyes.

The joke is on them and they're the only ones who don't realize it.

but they do mess it up for all of us.. take away the don c 's and newyorkcompany and their many copycats.. the resell prices would drop.. i didnt mind 50-100 over retail.. but 15k over retail is kinda insane.. i still trip hard off of the yeezy 1 pose in the small apartment.. where dude has like over 100k (reseller value) of yeezy's..

but look at apple.. they do all that eearly hype.. and they sell out but they restock a couple months later.. so i wait then and dont have to worry about the lines but nike could amke fly and hot kicks and make them gr and people could buy them without going on ebay to be force-fed reseller prices and we could be living the "He got game" scene again on release day.. Hell when the space james and black/red 11's retroed in 2000 and 2001.. i could try them on in the store.. try that BS now.. youd get ran over robbed or shot at ..lol

people get angry because that guy got the last pair and is going to take it to the register.. thats a fight waiting to happen.. what about all those instore fight videos.. where dudes were rumbling for the gamma blues in store.. it has gotten to that point because the lack of resources of shoes for the demand.. now people fighting for tickets... its crazy....then the people getting robbed because they going to the store to claim their pair..etc.. 
 
In other news went to get the obsidians but the curse of the sz 11 struck me down, i was a few minutes late and they sold the last 11... Hopefully the EU sites will come thru with a disco like they did with the volts

Dudes been getting robbed for kicks since the 80s.

Most of the dudes on this site wouldn't have been able to rock ANYTHING fly back in the golden era - woulda got snatched right up out of it in broad day on a busy ave.

Sure, who likes to deal with that madness as a grown man, but the removal of that whole element was the gentrification of the culture. And, what happens when things get gentrified? The transplants come in and the existing residents get priced out.

If people were still getting checked for their gear, half these dudes wouldn't even be participating in this hobby.

Making it safe is the most important obstacle one has to clear to make it mainstream.

Again, it's cool that you can rock without getting rolled up on, I guess. But, at the same time, the effects of that change are not completely beneficial to the culture either.
