:lol: last midnight release I participated in was the original Altitude XIII release when I was in high school... even then, I felt it was ridiculous.
 
I remember doing the space jam release, then waking up at 3 to go to the mall and camp for a 7am opening fcfs release. Needless to say, I was exhausted, but ended up with 6 pairs at the end of the day.
 
Never did a midnight drop, that being said if they did it on a Friday night I wouldn't mind that at all. 
 
id have to assume there of plenty new people in this that have never experienced the midnight releases, or even knew they ever existed. just another way to tell who has been doing this for a while lol

Yea I remember that release very well.
The benefit of asyncronous releases is that you could strike out online but still go line up in the morning.

For space jams, I couldn't find the ndc link (remember those days) and was salty when they sold out. The other websites crashed so bad that night. I lined up in the am and got a few pairs. Was a chill day.
 
Yeah I remember that, I'm pretty sure I just used the search feature for "Jordan XI" and kept refreshing. Unfortunately struck out online but got everything local. My personal pair is still DS with the yellowed sole haha

Does anyone know the official rd for gone fishing foams? Villa says the 20th others site are sayin 27th??

I just woke up at 5am and went to the store, I never got shoes online back then. 
 
Midnight drops were dope for us on the west coast. Had enough time that if you struck out, you could get in line. That was back in the day when camping was decent.
 
Good old midnight releases, I remember the one that ended it all. The cement 4 release that was a cluster of epic proportions..... The non flash help me get my neon blue foams if I'm not mistaken... The pre bot era, I ate very well in those days

those days.. it was all about the fast connection and pc.. then the bots started becoming the lions attacking the elephants.. then became the reseller eleplhants standing together selling "carts" and "atc"..
 
I'll never forget how Footlocker cancelled my Space Jam order :smh:
I was heated, those are my all time grails out of all sneakers.
Mom copped me them off eBay for a Christmas present the next year, she's the best :nthat:

i remember when I got my JUMPMAN JAMS from 2000.. They cut off those 30% discounts locally but I got mines for retail still no lines..
 
That was back when you could PRE order. Not many people knew about it but if you could find out a product code and CALLED eastbay or footlocker they would charge your credit card for a release down the road. A few days after the release the shoes arrived at your house. It was beautiful! I did this from the Infared 6 release through the white Black 9s in January 2002. I think it was for the raptors seven release later in 2002 that the whole preorder thing stopped. Don't kill me if I'm wrong though.

Thats crazy.. I see a lot of ppl refer to the going for prices as far as reselling goes, but do they really sale? Its amazing how long/far reselling has come as a fad/style, usually things of that sense drop/die off after a few years or so.
