That was bad on their part. Store isn't losing money. But egos.... They can do some things to people
I actually do my returns at an outlet. The employees are kind enough to make whatever adjustments they need to make in order to help me out since their pricing is usually lower and they need to override to the retail price.

You actually can use a coupon code with your SNKRS app purchase. Found this out by accident. Had a 15% off code from NDC that I had been saving. Just kept putting things in my NDC cart for the past week or 2. Was going to wait until I had a really big purchase and then use it. The 15% code was loaded in my checkout profile just so I could keep track of the total. Never checked out. On Saturday I got the Teal 4's on the SNKRS app using the same NDC profile and it had used the coupon code without me even knowing. I called Nike Customer Service, explained what happened, and that I was saving that code for a large purchase. They just issued me another.

i know places that do this and its so misguided, the rule is there so that people dont take advantage of the lower pricing, but some of these employees want to enforce the rules so much they lose sight of why it even exists to begin.

i would ask for their store # and threaten to call corporate to ask about this supposed "later date". theres no excuse for a customer not to be able to cop the foams when they go into the store when the store has them in stock.
