Clark is gona ariza it up cuz someone will over pay...happens every time. Having said that..unless hill ia dealt for a future pick or something absurd...the roster as is..pau (amnesty if d12 resigns)..mwp (amnesty if d12 leaves), hill, meeks, nash and kobe, r.kelly, blake (trade fodder)...without d12, thats 4 or 5 roster spots with an amnesty and kb24 starts on injured list. Thats alot of journeymen an castoffs. We will be lucky to see a player of copeland/collison quality. may as well bring in DJO/CDR/Glock for camp and see who sticks.

its still weird to see nash as a spokesman for the lakers

I don't see Clark getting an Ariza like deal (5 year / $33mil). Especially with how CBA is constructed. No team is committing 5 years to Clark. Maybe a 3 year deal, if lucky.. But it wouldn't be very lucrative. More years, less money per year he will get. Hell CJ Miles only got 2 year $4.5 mil last year. Lakers should offer him 1 year / $5mil.

This way they can then use the MMLE on a 3.1mil. And it would equal only $400K more than MWP's contract, and you can now amnesty MWP.

Then try to get Farmar for Veteran's Minimum 1 year.

Look at Garcia for the same. (Garcia is a tougher sell at Min).

Nah..I mean overpay for "him"...like u said 3/18....im with u on easy earl..2/10 or something should get it done but someones gonna amir Johnson him..I havr a feeling (aforementioned 3/18 to 20 mill)

Younger and more athletic. Garcia is entering age 34 season..so to me thats a last resort..young/delfino/copeland/even barnes id take ahead of garcia.

Why do dudes want Dwight back ???? If he resigns its only because he was pressured too he clearly doesn't wanna be here

32.

Shoots the 3 well. Plays good defense.

If he's at minimum. Which I doubt, but you take him.

Ok..32...but he made 5.2 mill in 12-13...vets min is a stretch unless he really wants to play here. I guess whoever signs him can squeeze a few seasons at his current production.

LOL at Nash thinking his 39 year old washed up legs can convince Dwight to sign.

Dwight wants youth, athleticism, excitement around him. He doesn't want an old close to retiring team with no fire power left. He won't wanna listen to anything Nash has to say

You can call me pessimistic.

I call it #RealTalk

This reminds me so much of the Brett Favre circus. Dwight don't know what the hell he wants.

I just think it's sad that Mitch is doing all this extra stuff and it's clear Dwight doesn't want to be there. It's the MFing Lakers, they shouldn't have to convince somebody to stay.

And whether goes or stays he won't live up to all this hype.

^i agree bro.

Mitch and Jim are practically on their knees beggin this dude and its so clear he doesn't want any of it. Pretty sad. I wish the guy had a Laker state of mind but he just doesn't.

@SteveNash
Flying from NYC to LA. @DwightHoward we're coming for you. You're going to love the statue we build for you outside Staples in 20yrs!

:frown: I wish Nash was just a couple years younger. Hoping he can still pull off a good year next year.

What is this surprise the Lakers have for Dwight? I just don't see anything that can convince Dwight to stay if he already has his mind made up.

It would be ideal to get young athletic shooters but you have to settle for old shooters. It would be an upgrade over old and terrible shooters like artest.

L2B have you already come up with what you're going to say when he resigns?

I'll gladly say one thing:

I was wrong.

I want him to prove me wrong Johnny. I don't hope for failures. I'll be happy to admit I was wrong. I'll leave the damn man in my Avy (with our jersey) for the summer if he commits to Laker basketball.

But he won't.

I actually wouldn't mind Mullens for cheap as part of our bench rotation.

Pros: he can shoot, tall, lengthy, can spread the floor, decent big man passer

Cons: he can be a little too eager to shoot, jacks up a lot of shots, not a strong defensive presence.

Overall, his flaws can be worked on.
Would be a nice little signing for cheap.

See? I can be positive.

Byron Mullens is trash. :x

Minus whale give Ryan Kelly 25 minutes a night.

Edit:

The Thunder are pursuing Dorell Wright. :frown:

Well for the minimum I wouldn't mind him coming in for some shooting purposes 10-15
Minutes a game.

But in no way shape or form did I mean I'd
Be okay with him having 25-30 mins a game  no way man

Warriors Making Their Dwight Howard Pitch

The Warriors are definitely interested in landing Dwight Howard if at all possible. It’s a long shot, to be sure. But Golden State doesn’t seem at all deterred by Howard’s propensity for drama, his injuries, or his wanting to play for other teams.

“Are you kidding?” one source said. “He’s the best center in the game.”

Golden State officials - Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob, general manager Bob Myers along with head coach Mark Jackson – are meeting with Howard in Los Angeles today in efforts to convince him the Warriors present his best chance of winning. Point guard Stephen Curry won’t be at the meeting, but he has reached out to Howard, using his star power to try to lure the game’s best center.

According to sources, the Warriors are willing to offer Andrew Bogut and Klay Thompson or Harrison Barnes. The Warriors can also add in the expiring contracts of Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins to sweeten the deal with more cap relief for the Lakers. Golden State, which can only sign Howard via sign-and-trade, believes that is the best offer Los Angeles will receive.

But first they have to convince Howard. Golden State has some favorable strengths to pitch:

* Howard will have no concerns getting the ball. The Warriors offer a style similar to his Magic squad that went to the finals – shooters on the outside giving him room to work on the inside. Golden State is stocked with unselfish players who will happily feed Howard, especially since his success will make life easier for them

* Curry represents a bonafide yet amenable star to play alongside Howard, something he didn’t have in Orlando or Los Angeles. With the Magic, he didn’t have a dominant player to run with in. With the Lakers, the star player rode him hard, which didn’t seem to sit well with Howard. If D12 is at all in search of peace and a drama-free environment, the Warriors might look appealing. (Houston perhaps offers the same in James Harden). Of course, many think Howard likes the drama.

* The Warriors made it to the Western Conference semifinals with numerous obstacles. They gave the Spurs the most problems in the West and have the pieces to play multiple styles. Right now, Golden State is looking like one of the better teams in the West. Add Howard and they instantly become an elite, challenging OKC and San Antonio. Can Houston, the presumed front runner in the D12 sweepstakes, make the same claim? Are Atlanta and Dallas just a piece away? Do the Lakers have enough left in the tank?

* I still say don’t sleep on the religious angle. A locker room full of Christians and a preacher coach might sound good to Howard, who came into the league saying he would evangelize so hard they would put a cross on the NBA logo. Howard is hardly the zealot he was when he entered the league, but I would not be surprised at all if Mark Jackson made that part of the pitch.

The Warriors are the underdog, no doubt. The Lakers can pay him the most money and may give him the best chance at a title. But if he really is off the Lakers, and coach Mike D’Antonio, Houston seems like an ideal fit and is reportedly his top choice. Dallas is an opportunity to start from scratch and have the team built around him. Ditto for Atlanta, his hometown.

It’s going to take a monumental pitch from Golden State to get D12 on board. Then they’d have to get the Lakers on board. But of course, the very fact that they’re in the mix means the Warriors have already won, in Lacob’s eyes.

@JaredZwerling League source: The #Knicks are interested in free agent big man Brandan Wright. The Lakers, Mavericks, Pistons & Raptors are also after him.

Well first things first Dwight has to want to
Go there.

If he does, we'd officially be mentally insane not to take that trade.

Harrison Barnes? Yes please.
