"The Infamous" ... Mobb Deep appreciation

Some of the greatest beats in Hip-Hop of all time. Still fresh to this day. This album still gets played pretty regular. No doubt in my top 25 Hip-Hop albums of all time.

One of my favorite albums of all time :pimp: P & Hav were at their best on this album.

Front to back, it gives you that gritty feel & throughout the years has stayed timeless :smokin

Classic, without a doubt.  Prodigy coming into his prime and Hav providing the timeless production.  This is one album I can listen to front-to-back and never get tired of.

Damn shame how hard they fell though.

One of my favorite albums of all time. I used to work out to this album all the time and I'm still not tired of it after listening all the way through over and over again.

Nas's verse on an eye for an eye. :x

"Give Up The Goods" and "Drink Away The Pain" are my favorite tracks. Havoc is a underated producer for sure

One of my top 3 favorite rap albums of all time, I never get sick of it. Shook Ones and Survival of the Fittest are songs every Hip Hop fan should know. Nas continues his '95 tear on Eye for a Eye and we are introduced to Big Noyd with one of the most energetic verses ever on Give Up the Goods.

I still think P was better on Hell on Earth then this album but it's close

Q-Tip did both of those.

"Eye For An Eye" and "Right Back At You" :smokin

Personally, I don't think there's any way one could say that P wasn't better on Hell On Earth. During that '96-'98 timeframe, Prodigy obliterated almost everything he was on. And all the best bootleg/white label/b-side joints from the Mobb came during that period, too. Hav and P could do no wrong for awhile there.

I'd go so far to say that during his prime, Prodigy was top 3 or 4 from a purely rapping perspective. Definitely not the most popular, but he killed it damn near every time.

On my list, its second to illmatic for the greatest hip-hop album of all time.

"I got you stuck off the realness, we be the infamous
You heard of us, official Queensbridge murderers
The Mobb comes equipped for warfare beware
Of my crime family who got nuff shots to share
For all of those, who wanna profile and pose
Rock you in your face, stab your brain with your nose bone
You all alone in these streets, cousin
Every man for they self in this land we be gunning
And keep them shook crews running, like they supposed to
They come around but they never come close to
I can see it inside your face, you're in the wrong place
Cowards like you just get they whole body laced up
With bullet holes and such
Speak the wrong words man and you will get touched
You can put your whole army against my team and
I guarantee you it'll be your very last time breathing
Your simple words just don't move me, you're minor, we're major
You're all up in the game and don't deserve to be a player
Don't make me have to call your name out
Your crew is featherweight, my gunshots'll make you levitate
I'm only nineteen but my mind is older
And when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold
Another ***** deceased, another story gets told
It ain't nothing really, hey, yo Dun spark the philly
So I can get my mind off these yellowbacked ******
Why they still alive I don't know, go figure
Meanwhile back in Queens the realness and foundation
If I die, I couldn't choose a better location
When the slugs penetrate you feel a burning sensation
Getting closer to God in a tight situation
Now take these words home and think it through
Or the next rhyme I write might be about you"

One of the greatest of all time verses right here. If you don't know this by heart then I question everything you say about hip-hop.

an eye for an eye is my favorite crew track of all time. Nas was :x :x

Them 808s still sound fresh whenever I give this a spin....

Speaking of samples, Temp Rising is one of my faves too, RIP Killa Black

F*** lookin cute, I'm strictly Timb boots and Army certified suits
Puffin L's, laid back, enjoying the smell
In the Bridge getting down it ain't hard to tell
