The only really original concepts behind collabs were the Fieg landmarks, as mentioned, those LimitedEditions Gel Lyte 5s (Dali was an awesome idea), the Burn Rubber Vernors cans, and the Extra Butter "Street Meat" Ventilator.  Most of the good releases had "boring" concepts behind them, but flawless execution.  Give me those Azzuris over the Ginger Ale cans any day.

In conclusion, the shoe looks great, so the fact that its not that original doesn't bother me.  It works.  He could have just called them "Navy Gel Sights" and I'd still like them.

I agree with you. I think most of his older stuff didn't have great story either. 
Cove and Mints - Beach or really just colors

Salmon toes - No clue whats the story behind this

eclipse - the moon?

denim - Pretty sure just a pair of denim shoes

ECP - Dolphins and Knicks.

I think to say his new shoe sucks because its "story" suck doesnt make sense because most of his older stuff "story" is just as lame or do not have a story at all but most people like his other stuff.
 
I personally never cared for a back story most of the time it's so forced and ridiculously overdone. I don't need justification for where you got your colors from.

says exclusively at the pop-up this weekend. they'll probably release online within the next two weeks, like how the KFE collection last year dropped a week and a half early at the Brazil pop-up.
 
I honestly really like them, I'm going to need some help at the pop up shop :nerd:

I like the tan one's but the model just isn't doing it. Lose the back plastic part and these would be so much better.
