Too many shops are focusing on some ridiculous concept to inspire a shoe rather than focusing on a clean, wearable shoe with quality materials. We have shoes that have been inspired by Street Meat, Hamburgers, Cherry Blossoms, The beach at 7:56 PM, The beach at 7:56 AM, NYPD Badges, GI Joe, Bull fighting, the Golden State Warriors, etc. Just make a nice shoe, first. It doesn't need it to have some profound meaning. 

Some of RF best work had very little backstory and lacked a "creative sneaker name". Salmon toes, Leather backs, Super Reds, Rose Golds, Mints, etc. Their nick names, are just describing the actual shoe. The color-ways and quality are what made them what they were. 

Concepts collabs are usually a hit they are usually they are clean. They take their inspiration and maximize it into a wearable shoe. Shops have to stop following every latest trend and focus on making a timeless shoe. Also, stop trying to be the innovation King. Yeah, you may be the first to collab a specific model, but if the shoe looks like crap, it looks like crap.

I'm a huge West fan- the guys and what they stand for, etc.  But I think Sneaker Politics has far and away the best sneaker releasing this weekend.  Those are disgustingly awesome.

Trust me when I say the nubuck on the R698 really wasn't all that.  Not quite up to par with Ronnie's usual materials.  The Sakura pack>>>>highsnob pack.
 
Was just looking on ebay and found some pictures of the R698 of highsnob pack and man it does not flatter the shoe at all. The ashy look was a bit too ashy for my tastes and the craftsmanship looked poor (glue stains everywhere). However the BOG looked really good. Dunno what to make of any of it. But it looks like I'm holding off on the R698. Look it could just be a bad pair but it was enough to give me a bit of pause.

Yea thats what im scared about. Feel like that Kith filter is doing its job and the actual shoes gonna be ashy looking. Gonna be a game time decision tomorrow

He posted on IG last night. BWood called it perfectly. I think Rons starting to see his shine die down so what better way to build the hype back up than by making his releases "limited" again. Hope it's not true, I like being stress free on release day lol
 
Saw the r698 in person at kith last weekend and yea they're kind of ashy. The bog's look way better, but the strap is just as much of a turn off in person.

I'm with you, I like an easy cop for the stuff I like. He doesn't have to go back to more limited if he's making better product and maybe focus a lot less on cereal  and other whack crap we couldn't care less about... I'll be the first to say, I don't know squat about marketing, but who cares if shoes are on a site a whole day, or week for that matter? 

Hopefully he hits the bottom of the barrel and blesses us with some of his really old stuff in the form of retros we missed out on lol.
