Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. * S7 Premieres May27

These agents are supposed to be the best of the best.

SHIELD was made to neutralize superhuman and extra-terrestrial threats.

The should be much better in every way than the CIA and NSA combined.

They are here to prevent another alien invasion, to neutralize the Hulk when he goes crazy again, to stop Iron Man from destroying half the city when he's drunk, and to stop another super villain who wants to take over the world, etc.

... And what do we get?

Amateurs.

To be fair, this version of SHIELD hasn't really dealt with supernatural beings, as you can see, they are still discovering and are shocked and surprised about superhumans (mutants) existing. I mean the Avengers still consist of humans with powered suit and serum enhanced, gods and aliens.

For this group, outside of Coulson, this is their first experience with humans with human born powers, they made that very clear. Plus you also have to remember, these guys are on the lower pay grade and there are the higher ranked ones like Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Hawkeye, etc... These guys outside of Coulson (maybe?) are simply out of that league.

You also got to keep in mind that the events in this show is an aftermath to the Avengers, where Fury specifically stated that they did not know there were forms of higher beings before the events of the Thor film so yeah these small group isn't exactly trained for these kind of stuff, hell in the Avengers Black Widow and Hawkeye talked about not being trained to deal with Thor and Loki and those two are SHIELDs top agents.

I still think this show could be much, much better but it doesn't need to be dark, just better writing that believes their audience is smarter than they think they are.

Also, despite declining ratings, it seems that their target audience (18-40 viewers iirc) stayed consistent and that is why it got approved for a full season. The shoes really needs to just pick up audience int he last few episodes and it'll be renewed for a second season, especially if they really tie it all in with the films.

Looking like somebody gonna die tonight, any guesses as to who?

Gotta be fitz or simmons right?

Long as Skye is on the show, I'm watchin. I'm simple that way.

It's early in the process tho, they can certainly build upon and draw from the movies and be just fine. We don't need Cap and IM and all those guys to make cameos, just the middle folks. Havin Sam on was a great play imo.

With Thor openin this week, maybe we'll see a sort of reference in there somewhere, and things will connect as we move along.

Probably not this week but maybe next?

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD to feature a Thor Dark World crossover

Marvel Studios have made a point of interweaving the plotlines to their movies together and now they're expanding this to TV.

An upcoming episode of Marvel's Agent of SHIELD will deal with the fall out from events in Thor: The Dark World.

"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of SHIELD pick up the pieces - one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team," reads the show's official synopsis.

Sounds good to me.

At some point, I bet season 2 would tie in Cap as well. Early Spring, maybe? Or after, and go Summertime.

Even before...

Final Episodes Of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Linked To CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER?

"Sources" say that "...Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will wrap its first broadcast year just after the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier to theaters. A source close to the production that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will, indeed, be interconnected with the upcoming second Captain America film. According to our source, events taking place in the show will “tease and set up the S.H.I.E.L.D. of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Wait, so, season ONE, will still be going on in the Spring time? The heck? So they must be shutting down for a couple months or something, right?

To get to April, that's what.....20 months away.....we have 5-6 eps in, hmmm, maybe a week off here or there like they did last week, how long is the season, 24 eps?

I'll be damned. That works doesn't it? Well ****. This is perfectly timed then.

It'll probably have a mid-season break like what AMC does/did with Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, etc... or as you said, a week off for holidays and such.

Tonight's episode was the best one of the season thus far..

I was really impressed that they let all of the characters (except Skye) show their personality..it made them seem as if they were all a true team-if that makes sense?

Glad they gave a lot of air time to the girl and the guy who are always in the laboratory (don't know their names even though I have been watchin every episode )

Really liked the tie-in for the Jaturri..it's really shapin up to the b the show that we all have wanted..let's hope next weeks episode is JUST AS GOOD..

This episode really had a lot of depth to it..:smokin

What did everyone think?

This was definitely the best episode yet. I actually cared about them for once.

The scorch ep was the best, this was cool, plus theres no way Coulson can ba a LMD after all the hints they dropped in this ep

Exactly what we've been waiting for. And wisely, they've backed off the Skye focus a smidge to get the others involved. Well done.

Hook everyone with Skye, then once established, bring others up to speed. Smart play.

Love the Avengers tie in, fire crew, helmet, stuff like that is great. Got a new upper management dude, wonder if he makes it into a movie.

So far so good.

Who is the new Upper Management dude? Agent Blake? He was in the SHIELD short film from The Avengers Blu-Ray/DVD...Unless you're referring to someone else I didn't pay attention to?

I really thought Simmons was going to die. Honestly, I thought it would have been cool, but I guess they'll keep her on the show for the remainder of the year.

Looking forward to the tie-in to Thor: Dark World and if the season finale ends with a tie-in to Winter Soldier, I will be happy.

So, who thinks Coulson is really Coulson now? He has a scar, referred that his PT tests were normal...But he felt different? Had to be brought back from the dead. And did Melinda May also say she had experienced death as well?

Anyone catch Coulson say that "he felt RUSTY"? Thought that was clear hint supporting the LMD theories.

Yes she did start to say that. Coulson cut her off. Whats the secret behind Coulson? :nerd:

Your right, Blake was in that short film, I forgot all about that. Well, either way, good to see someone else in the org outside just Sam. I've been wondering if we would see any of those leaders that gave orders in the Avengers pop up anywhere in the series. Blake may be as close as we get.

May has been showing since the start of the film she was coming back from something, clearly they will show what happened to her at some point. Pretty clear she died for a moment too and she understands what Coulson is goin thru.

Episode was straight turds as usual. I only enjoyed the first two episodes, everything after seems half assed.

Did you guys see which Marvel character will appear in the upcoming episode??
Victoria Hand.

I absolutely love this show. It's better if you're into comics, but overall it's a great action show.

Why are you still watching if you haven't liked an ep in a month? I would gave up on it by now if I didnt enjoy it
