Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. * S7 Premieres May27

Man, I want to like this show, but I never got into heroes, and a live action Saturday morning cartoon in prime time is a lot. This universe is to big, will wolverine make an appearance? What about the rest of the avengers? It's an expensive show. I think it would have been a doper mini series, but they have fans so it will sell ads n stay on air.

FYI, old dude is some kind of a clone Ie not the real agent [whatever his name is]

^^^ Thank You
I kept thinking of that song but couldnt think of her name, lol

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.LD.: Connections, Easter Eggs, Plot-Points.

Avengers connections
For the most part the subtle references and the use of clips from The Avengers and other phase one movies were fine but when it came to the plot-point of the episode: the amalgamation of all the superpower enablers of each franchise it came off like a bit too much, along with some of the more forced references to specific Avengers. However, it was nice to see the Chituari, Loki and Black Widow get a mention even if Hawkeye once again got missed over except for an action figure.

Cobie Smulders return as Maria Hill was also welcomed and the explanation (and then new mystery) of Agent Coulson’s death will keep me back for more.

The Mobile Command Unit, the teams flying base of operations were apparently popular in the 90’s before S.H.I.E.L.D. got its helicarrier. The brief mention of S.H.I.E.L.D. covering up the destruction of Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. and New Mexico was good and unexpected, while the final scene of the episode revealed that Howard Stark worked out the problems of his flying car idea for a really cool nod to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s high-tech 60’s James Bondesq spy roots.

The previously mentioned superpower enabler, the Centipede, featured another remake of the super-soldier serum (seemingly with the same addictive quality Blonsky succumbed too in The Incredible Hulk), Gamma radiation and Extremis, all wrapped up in alien tech. Not sure the gamma radiation was need especially as it didn’t seem to turn people green like it has in previous uses with Hulk and Abomination and the use of the serum and extremis would be enough to account for the increased strength but thats just me nit-picking.

Future
Along with the “other interested parties” and Coulson’s “death” being series wide arcs it looks like Agent Wards “family history” seem like something that will pop up in a future episode.

Skye’s spider-man reference was probably the closes thing we will get to having Spidey in the MCU, while I would love to get some hi-def stills of the inside of Skye’s Rising Tide office/van; as I would like to read more about the “Flying man found dead” and the Kid Hero. Also her own history seems shrouded in mystery too.

The term “Unregistered gifted” by Hill was intriguing, just to think that one day down the line the idea of registration could make its way to the MCU.

Apart from “Journey Into Mystery” I didn’t hear any other book titles mentioned but I was half expecting “Strange Tales” to pop up somewhere.

really corny dialogue. I don't know why I disliked the pilot yet I liked Firefly.

Will stick with it though because of the avengers connection.

Yeah, Marvel/Disney has the TV rights for Wolverine and Spiderman too. Wolverine has made a cameo in the Amazing Spiderman cartoon.

I stated this a few pages back but a Peter Parker cameo wouldn't be so bad, I'd even get Maguire to do it just for the hell of it.

Sadly, the cheesiness is somewhat Whedons signature so I do not see it going away at all.

I also do not like the main guy, Ward I think, he looks somewhat goofy or like a comedian to be taken as a seriously badass spy. I just do not buy him in the role, they could have casted better I think.

More Skye because why not?

Fine as hell.

Fine as hell.

Imdb has her listed as "Beautiful Woman" and the actress' name is Sarah Dumont. If anyone is planning to watch Don Jon, she's in it.

Finally caught the premiere and it was pretty average. Felt like I was watching a more high-tech version of The X-Files...At least the chicks look alright.

I think it's good that the premiere was a mediocre. The hype around the show drew millions of people to watch the pilot and I'm sure episode two will do well in ratings again. I simply would like to see the writing on the show progress and improve with each episode. I don't want the first half to be great and then the second be terrible like the Walking Dead. Hoping tomorrow's episode is better.

There is suppose to be a surprise cameo in tonight's episode, haven't seen it so I can't confirm.

Graviton or as Franklin Hall is suppose to be on the third episode, which is a great I think. I can see him turning into Graviton and wreaking havoc in the show.

this weeks episode was weakkkkkkkk. the pilot was better.

it was so obvious the soldier chick was gonna backstab them.

also the nerdy girl with the accent >>>>>> skye. no contest
