NFL Quarterbacks Discussion thread: 2013 Edition

Hey man, Brady had ten years of Marshall Faulk and Edge James too.
Marino had 10 years of Edge and Faulk.
Favre and Elway had full decades with 2 of the better RB's the NFL ever saw.

Oh, and with Harrison and Wayne too.

Yeah, he's had it rough his whole career.

Brady has had 7 years of Moss and welker..then gronk and hernandez and welker. No chips, whats your excuse?in before "Bbbbuttt the defense!!!!"

I don't speak on Brady because dudes are straight up delusional when it comes to this guy.

Brady should be the poster boy for the term "stats don't tell the whole story"

If you can't look at Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and and see which one is the better QB I don't know what to tell you.

Kids these days need to watch games. And not Stat sheets.

Moss was with Brady 7 years?????

Yes, Brady backers = delusional.

Peyton backers = enlightened.

See how you just choose to see what you wanted to see with dudes comment? He clearly said Moss and 3 others for a combined 7 years. But to help your argument you just mentioned Moss.

not to add to this mess...but let's not forget that wes welker was never considered anything remote to high end talent to 98% of people on here. me and CP used to get SHREDDED in WIR for talking about welker. according to most people on this board, brady basically had an elite WR (moss) for two years (year 2 was the cassel year and year 4 was like 3 games or so).

gronk is an elite TE, no doubt there. AH was high end talent. no argument there, either.

Yep, a deep threat WR + slot guy transitioned to two TE + slot guy seamlessly. Complete different offense, but you consider that the same as having an entire offense EXACTLY the same as Peyton did.

Sure.

The only way I can make my point is to sit and watch a Peyton Game and Then sit down and Watch a Brady game with you. That's the only way. It's really no point to continue talking.

We see things differently that's all and I do respect your opinion CP because no question you know your stuff.

But when it comes to Brady you just let the stats fool you.

Maybe I can put it like this. The Pats are a well oiled machine. But if ANYTHING goes wrong with it the thing just breaks down.

It's no coincidence that they lost Twice to the Giants. Same with The ravens last year.

Brady is a very Successful QB. But but at no point in his career have I considered him the best QB in the game. And I have my reasons got that.

the whole basing brady's place in the QB ranks off stats doesn't even make sense, though. no one is doing that. peyton's stats are better...that's been said in the thread already.

what stats are we talking about?

Ok so enough beating around the bush then.

Why is Tom Brady a better QB than Peyton Manning?

Good point DSA, Welker is NOW considered elite. Love how that works.

Being misused in miami and people talking about how good he would be in New England .... those are things you conviently are forgetting. NO ONE trades a second and seventh for a reciever who isnt in their eyes elite.

You are proving my point for me. BB's hand in that ..... but na it was just brady right?

So, Giants-Ravens beat NE cuz one thing goes wrong.

And all of Peyton's playoff losses are explained as........? Defenses fault?

Listen dude, you should not point any fingers at me about Welker. Trust me.

CP I asked you a simple question...

Yeah, Bill can just insert any QB and change the offense and it'll work.

You brought up welker not being elite though....

How am i not gonna point fingers? You just said that many said he wasn't considered elite. Would any team trade a 2nd + for a non elite player? Why use it as an argument for your belief when you dont believe it?

it didn't work tho! we missed the playoffs!! we lost 7 less games!!!

you go from record setting to 8th best...how is that the same thing?

Man y'all went 11-5 period.

The jets and a couple other AFC teams just had great years. ANY other year and you guys are in the playoffs.

but do you understand the drop off a near undefeated season to 11-5 and missed playoffs? not to mention, the AFC East played the NFC West and AFC West that year with Cassel. do you know how bad a drop off it is when you don't make the playoffs from the AFC East, after going 18-1? it's the one year we've missed the playoffs since 2002, maybe?

CP I asked you a simple question...

Tom can use multiple offenses, multiple groupings and still be efficient. Run based offense, pass heavy offense, WR based, two TE based. He can work in any offense and do work.

Peyton has ran HIS system since day 1. The first and only offense he ever learned he's ran that even thru today. The Broncos scrapped their offense for his when he came in.
That's not a knock on him, he's a genius to pull that off, but to me, a QB that can alter his style 3-4 times and still be elite is better than the guy running one way for 15 years.

If you switched names and Tom ran one offense for 15 years and Peyton adjusted his style, his O 3-4 times, I'd back Peyton.
