LOS just bodied sway in the morning

I don't really keep up with this stuff anymore, but man, that was really nice. As far as Sway's freestyles go, this probably knocked Papoose off the #1 spot.

I hope that does not include Sway and Tech days. Because, if so, Pap would be lucky to crack the top 200.

there's always that one ***** :smh:

Yeah, I don't get that argument for anything, and for two main reasons.

1. What does, "but he doesn't make good music" mean? There are many different forms of great music. Is going in over somebody else's beat with just a bunch of dope braggadocio bars not music? Of course, it is. Some people say that this guy can't make great music. I say he just did. If you don't like that "element" of hip hop, that's a HUGE segment of the culture you are cutting off. ...Also, how far do we extend this? Should be apply the same "he's just going in on somebody else's beat" to everybody who ever recorded over a clear rip of Nautilus, Funky Drummer, etc. Hip hop is about THE SAMPLE, this is just the most blatant form of that.

2. How much rap out there actually says anything profound? Seriously. For most, even great rappers, they drop a few jewels here and there and spend most of the time talking about typical hood stuff or how dope they are. And, further, if you are actually being educated by a rapper, then you should probably spend more time learning in the first place. If you learned about the US's history of coups and imperialism from Immortal Technique, that's evidence of your own ignorance at least as much as it is of his brilliance.

I've been a fan of Los for awhile... kind of forgot about him, unfortunately. He's talented as a rapper for sure.

^Nah, it's not the way they dress, it's the fact that a large number of them are just a create a player attribute adjustment from the next. Increase something, you get Meek Mill, decrease something you get Ace Hood, then _ay_e, then Twist, Chuckee, etc etc.
so genius im mad i aint say it sooner....

and to add to that, this is why that riff raff freestyle is so dope, cuz it stays within da rules of hiphop but da unorthodox of his delivery and his southern drawl

plus da houston slang he was droppin..pssh, **** is like comparing a car to a plane, whole nother species of hotness.

Enjoy yourself

When I heard this series of lines the first time

…My new kind offer you can get behind
I'm the one like 60 minus 59
Doin 60 in my 59
Fly 59-50
Flyer than 59 frisbees
What, I gotta tell these ****** 59 times?
I been the **** before that ***** shot 50 nine times
I'm 59 times.... Better
Let a... ***** say my name and it's rhymin, watch
Cuz I dont need a diamond watch
To make your girlfriend camcord me ****** a dime, and watch
Then Ima **** your girl so the dime can watch
Ima **** BOTH girls, and let Diamond watch
Soon as I get Diamond hot?
Ima camcord both them ******* ****** Diamond, watch…

I knew. I learned that day. Reading it is like okay, that's cool I guess.

But hearing it with his flow and the beat :smh:

I guess written freestyles are as much of an art as off the top styles, so you gotta respect them both. That was straight 1-8-7 though. Definitely got my attention from now on. I'll be checking for son.

i'm not too sure about the meaning of freestyling...but i lean towards what these rappers are saying in this video

Bip, I didn't think you even BROWSED General!

HA!

Another Diabolic reference! I'ma have to call that fool.....

Los n general? I pop too many beans or sumthin?

Cant b real life.

Been ridin wit LOS since like 09. Zero Gravity is still prob his best most complete project. All his tapes r :smokin

I bang hologram panda daily. Riff is always jokes and always has a sloppy delivery but its just entertaining and funny and actually kinda hot most of the time. he's like the And1 streetball version of a rapper. he can do some entertaining stuff but aint nobody confusing him for Chris Paul when he really just HotSauce.

Nah. This is only from his morning satellite radio. I listen to it on the way to work. Most of the flows aren't that great at all sadly.

Rarely.

I only come for the Polo thread, but occasionally something else will pique my interest.

I could have said Percee P, Mr. Voo, B-One, Louis Logic (in the "Odd Couple" days before the Japanese punk rock movement), Half a Mil, Pun, vintage Marshall, Crooked I, most of the "Fresh Coast" dudes, or a dozen others. Dude definitely has skills, but to say his bars are some of the best in years is kind of OD. And, when I list those still above his level, I'm talking strictly pen game. Obviously, there are tons of great rappers without A+++ pen game. And, also, I only listed dudes known for being able to "go in" like that - obviously dudes like Nas or AZ have an insane pen game as well, but this is sort of apples to oranges.

calibeebee that's a perfect analogy for him and his music. One thing about his stuff as far as features, besides DollaBillGates, Ghetty, and....ehhhhhhh, TKO Capone (who are all decent at best), the majority of the people Riff Raff collabs with are soooo awful and ruin a lot of those good beats he gets  Lil Debbie, Kreayshawn, those other 3 guys who posted in that vid, and so on. I'd like the Riff Raff-only versions of the songs all of them are on.

I always saw his freestyles and was blown away but whenever I listened to actual songs I was just never moved.

But the new song and video he has for "war" might be the most incredible thing I've seen all year

I've always supported him his interview with ebro is a nice nod to the youth and people of baltimore and just youth in general

It's on Spotify. I'm feeling it half way thru.

his double entendre game is filthy

I like it, although IMO it's a different approach for him. Favorite songs (in no particular order)

Confidence
Balance Is Good
Slave
War
God Money War
Glory To The Lord
Lil Black Boy

Ghetto Boy and To Be Honest are cool also. Gotta really sit down and give it a full spin without skipping soon tho.
