I don't know if this is the right thread to ask this in, but I need advice in buying a new camera. What brand do you guys recommend? Any tips? I don'twant anything fancy, just a decent digital camera that doesnt cost over 220$. Thanks in advance guys.

I really don't understand the composition of your shots. You use really bad angles and in the first picture, your subject (I'm assumingyou wanted to capture the guitarist) is blocked by those mics.

I also think that not all pictures need to be in B/W. It does not make the shot more artistic than it is.

And as stated you used a really high iso which I thought was necessary until I saw that it was daytime in that last picture.

hmm.. would you say Canon is the best brand? I was lookin through some Sony Cybershot cameras that seemed nice, but havent browsed throughCanon's section.

canon is my go to brand for point and shoots. and i'd rather trust a company that focus mainly in imaging and what not, than a company allover the place. i'm not saying sony is bad, i just like canon and nikon better. everything sony is proprietary.

Problem: My sky in my photos are always white; I can never seem to get them to turn blue. I can mess with the stops but my foreground gets way too dark.

holy crap those stairs collapsed yesterday? i was on those stairs no problem the other day

close the aperture and pop up the flash. or use "active d-lighting" if you have something like that. you can even try bumping up the isoand closing the aperture.

You can also mess with layers in ps to light up only the parts that are too dark.. Expose for the sky and do this afterwards;

Choose layers> new adjustment layer>curves then you create a curve that lights up the whole picture to get the right exposure for the parts that wereoriginally too dark. Aftyer that you choose the brush tool and 'paint' all areas that you want to keep as the original exposure.

Depending on what camera you have you can get a lot of noise in the areas you lit if you do it too hard though.
