Anyone have any experience with that lens and its image quality?
i dont think there's a constant f/2.8. it's just that the minimum aperture is 2.8, then when you zoom in it decreases (higher number)

both the Nikkor and Tammy can stay at f/2.8 at any length (constant) of course you can close it down if you choose too ...

Not bad man, They seem underexposed. Also, when taking shots of things in motion and you want them to look like they're actually moving, use slower shutter speeds. What I did, was set the camera in shutter priority mode, and locked the shutter at 1/50 and the camera picked the aperture for a proper exposure.
Thank you, sir! I'll have to try that next time, and mess around with it more. Your pictures are ridiculously good

I'm also getting the same lens within the next 2 weeks but Canon mount. Here's a sample photo thread.http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=209580&highlight=tamron×50&page=83

oh snaps! correction, go for the lens then!!!!

boricua. i did. those photos were taken by battleground_03 on here during the 2nd ceremony. i had dress shoes on during the 1st ceremony which was traditionalfilipino wedding.

I like taking pictures of things. sometimes people or places but mostly, just things.

I have a crappy little digital camera though. I see peoples' blogs and whatnot with extra clear pictures of some movie tickets/ something lying on a table, little things like that.

Thats what really interests me. I want to buy a camera that is good for that kind of stuff but I dont even know what to look for. Any help?

Where did you pick it up? I know you're in Canada and Henrys is charging a rape price for the lens.

Dope lens......that would have been my chose since Canon doesn't make a 10mm...that is if I still had my Canon.

Mr Fongstarr - Thanks man. I wish canon had a 10mm, because I feel they always have the nicest lenses. But there is nothing to complain about for the sigma, its an amazing lens!

Did you just go up and ask them to take their picture? Were they cool? I've always wanted to do street portraits but i feel like people will want to kill me or my camera...i live in Miami

I'm guessing you do too.
haha yea i do live in miami. and yup, i try to do it from a distance, but that lens is a 24mm 1.4, great for night shots.. not so great fordistance. so yea i usually walk up to people or take one without them knowing. im looking into the 85 1.2, but id really love a 70-200 1.8 =O

oh and, im a girl. sometimes females and people in general are more hesitant to be comfortable when a guy is taking their pic.. idk ive just found that to bethe truth over time.

also, I LOVE THIS!

nice.
so the sigma HSM = nikon AF-S? or did i read about it wrong? if so i think i would rather get that than the nikon 10.5 and have to manual focus all the time

Drich - I like the 1st shoot the second shoot is good aswell but the blurriness on the guy sitting down and the hard shadow on the rapper/singers face is alittle to much for my taste ...

Dj Bama did you mean 70-200 f/2.8??? Also here's that picture in color .. have a bunch of street shoots but to lazy to post ...
