Happy 4th to the Americans (which is basically everyone, with a couple of exceptions in this thread).

Definitely dope photos everyone. I've been wanting to shoot so badly but other priorities must come first. In other news however, I may get my hands on amint D300 on for an unresistable price... clear pictures up to ISO 3200, here I come.

Happy 4th of July everyone. Anyways this is for all of you Nikon shooters out there. I'm not sure if you guys are aware of the Nikon Help Hotline Youtubechannel but that place is pretty useful. Here's their video on how to shoot fireworks. Have fun with it.

I made a new account here, I lost the one from 06.

For those who asked on how I made the dunking pic I had a camera on a tripod and shot a series of bursts. Put them in photoshop layered on top of each other, and erased one by one so it's on one layer. And so forth.

Hard to explain but if you know how to make panoramics by hand you will get it.

^ radiohead, so pretty much use photomerge on PS? how do take the pics, burst mode? I dont think my D90 can take that many shots in a second.

I also posted some stuff earlier but i didnt work SMH. It's been a while since I actually participated, kinda sucks being stuck on big gray canoe. hahaha.

Just left Diego Garcia - and no there arent any real Autobot living there.

Here's the info I posted earlier but it didnt show up....

For the people that are starting out or if you just want a good photography book to read, check out SCOTT KELBY'S - The Digital Photography Book Vol. 1 and2. Great book, IMO he gets to the point and he wrote the book with out all that history on apertures and shutter speeds.

Hopefully I can go somewhere with some decent internet, I want to upload my pics to my flickr.

btw, one quick question: How do you save your files as? (format-wise)
embarassed.gif

I'm one that got used to .PNG for that sharpness on the web but I see that some of you use .JPEG and they still turn out fine so if any of you want toshare your secrets please and thank you.

The spot I picked to watch was just a bit too close to the fireworks. and by the time the show started I was boxed in and couldn't move. Oh well.

I just got lucky - I tried the photomerge option on cs3 but that doesn't work. What I did was took the second frame of the burst and placed it on top ofthe first frame. Then I got the eraser tool and erased over the layer so they aligned together. Then flattened the layer and continued the same process withthe rest of the frames. It takes a tripod so you are able to align the photos together. Takes alot of precision and patience when photoshopping hehe. I didthat with my 40D but I have also done it with my old rebel and got a good 4 frames. Hope this helped.
