^ I thought about getting a ext hdd. but what good will it do if i backup the files, and then the hdd dies? Itll be like a double play. ill loose backed upfiles... or does it work differently?

Trying out the RAW Image overlay feature on the D40. I thought the result was impressive. weird...

Well, the whole point of a backup is having two places to store the same files (ie. you're main HD plus an external just for backups)
Remember don't rely solely on an external drive, they fail just as often as internal ones do.
I use a RAID setup, so if one of the four 500 GB drives fail, it auto recovers and stripes the other 3 drives with the same data.
If you're a newb in terms of RAID, there are some external RAID boxes, like the DROBO box.
Still playing around with my XTi. Anyone recommend a 11-18mm. AF/MF lens?
Edit* if one of the two drives fail, you still have your backup. If both fail at the same (will never happen in your lifetime) you're screwed.

I was thinking about going to the seattle aquarium last saturday to take pics.

did you use flash for any of those shots?

Can someone tell me what fish eye lens or filter i should get for my Nikon D100? i'm looking for something around the $200 if that'seven possible...

I took over 100 shots at ISO800/ISOHigh & I still got massive blur on the bulk of my no-flash pics.

I'm so impatient to upgrade that I've some of my fire.

^ show was wild. Did you take a pic like backwards? You were looking strait but you turned the cam around?

If so I was right behind you.

sorry if my wording was confusing... basically, all the non-moving light sources (lamp, lights in the store across the street) were super-bright... and Idelete the pic... I'll try it again tonight... I guess I should just shorten the exposure time... tried 15 sec. on my first attempt...

total noob here... please be gentile...

Increase the aperture

^ increase the aperture number do you mean? Because you want to let less light in you should use a smaller aperture - or a shorter exposure.

And make sure your ISO is as low as it can go - if it's on auto it will probably try and increase it in low light.

Just got the Nikon D-40 camera...I know there's a lot of you dudes here in NT do this as a hobby. I got the 18-55mm lenses. What other lenses should I cop?
Fish eye? Wide angle? Panoramic?
