Official Photography Thread: Vol. ICan'tFindTheLastOne

Wow your guys photos look amazing! Which would you guys recommend Lightroom or Aperture? I have a 30 day trail of both and find Aperture to be a little biteasier because i'm a noob but I'm thinking of maybe forcing myself to learn Lightroom? Is one better than the other?

you need to have overlap (~20%) between each shot. Also make sure you shoot in manual mode so the aperture, shutter speed and exposure are the same ineach shot. Try using the photomerge function in CS3 to stitch.

fong, what aperture & shutter speed did you use for those show pics?
I took the pics with my Canon G9 point and shoot. There is an exposure setting but I think it was on zero anyways. I probably took about 30 shotsand those were the ones that came out decent.

Check out my lomo pics that I just got developed:

Pretty neat for just doing some stupid candid shots.

Am I supposed to zoom all the way in when i take the pics?

^^^zoom in? Don't change the focal length between each shot. Chose what focal length you want to shoot in and keep it the same from shot to shot.

I like the concert pics. I never knew that G9 could take such good pics in low light.

Well, the stage lighting was pretty bright, but out of any point and shoot that Ihave used, the G9 reigns supreme. But like all point and shoots, you have to rock that steady hand. I took a bunch of photos, only to get about 7 decent pictures with no motion blur. My favorite one in the group is thegreen/yellow one cause the guy in the forefront is blurred rather then the other way around.

My first attempt at those globe looking pics. it looks cut off cause it wasn't a 360 panorama, but i think it came out pretty decent.

This is the original pic I used, took it a while ago.

You can still take great pics inside. Taking indoor pics is the hardest. Why not try and master it. Not that I mastered
my camera (I am still learning), but i think the more you use it in different situations the better you will get.

yeah i can, but i feel uninspired when im inside the house. iono, perhaps its because i feel like crap...

Can anyone chime in if is this a specialty lens or can I use this from my day to day photo taking? Also all of my photos include these shadows, how do I remove them? Thanks!

Thanks fellas. Took me about 2 hours to do cuz the damn laptop I'm working on doesn't have enough memory which caused CS3 to run super slow.

Heres a sneak peek at the Nikon D60 from PMA 2008. Its in Spanish, but you guys can probably make out what shes showing. the first cam she shows is the normalD40, then the D60. she shows the new tilt sensor, also the viewfinder sensor that turns the lcd off when you put your eye to the view finder, the sensorcleaning system, and she shows the time lapse feature. you can choose 1 or 15 frames per second but the max is 100 frames, then it saves it as a .avi file.pretty cool. (10MP, 3.0fps, and some other improvements) price is said to be $750, not sure if the VR lens is included in that price.

i done this while i was bored at school... i just found a picture from google as i did not have my own panorama.

BTW: i am an absolute noob to photoshop, this is the first thing i've ever done on it!

If I can get a good enough picture of Hartford, I'll probably use one as a mixtape cover or something.

every time i see someone do it that way. The Flexify II plugin makes muchcleaner globes. You just gotta play around with it to get the right look. Please if people are gunna do globes dont butcher it. purchase Flexify or Dl (w/e youwant) and LEARN.
