Yo qksLvrtypeS those are some really nice photos! The last one was stunning! That really looks freezing...

What camera/lens/flash did you use for the portraits? I have been thinking of getting an external flash but I'm not sure how much I have to spend to get adecent one.

Nice photos everyone. I was wondering if some of you could help me pic a photo to get blown up to go above my desk. I already have one mounted on plexi-glass igot as a gift, and I wanted another blown up to go with it. What do you guys think would go best with this?

Here are some choices.

Any ideas? Thanks.

^Thanks man. I was thinking one of the last two were the best pics. I thought that XX3 would go with XX3 and 1 would look good with XX3 also. So I'm stillnot sure.

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

My school doesn't really have "majors" or "minors" but my degree (come spring of 09) will be a BFA in Photography and Graphic Design.

Ahh, that's dope. I was doing some research on The Art Institute ofLA, since I live around here, and they don't seem to offer photography (atleastthat I don't see).

But just a few questions
Are there are certain requirments to get in? or do you just need that guap?
What kind of film camera would you reccomend for a beginning? I'm probably going to score a Nikon D40/60 for $125 (knowing people that steal brand newmerchandise FTW!)
The reason I still want to do film is judging from what you've said throughout this topic, it ssems much more precise and interesting, such as black andwhite.

Thanks in advance!

The School of The Art Institute of Chicago is directly tied (and in part physically attached) to the musuem the Art Institute of Chicago.http://www.artic.edu/aic/ Not part of the private for-profit schools of the corporation the Art Institute or Ai of which the Art Institute of LA is part. Socompletely different programs of completely different stature. My school biggest requirement is a portfolio review and I think theres minimum SAT score of 1000(on the old SAT) so it's not wildly difficult but it's not just write someone a check either...

In southern California I would say the most comparable schools to mine would be Otis and Art Center College of Design both of which I'm pretty sure are inLA or thereabouts.

As far as camera suggestions. For 35mm just off the cuff. Pentax K-1000, Nikon FM-2, Canon A-1 are all fully manual but theres plenty of 35mm fully manualcameras out there that you can't go wrong with...

Oh alright thanks I'll do some research on both, but damn SAIC seems so dope man. If I could i'd try to go to school there.

Alright cool man I'll research on those cams in a bit

Thanks a lot Ebay, it's really appreciated
