I heard the 90mm Tamron is good as well.
I had the EF-S 60mm for awhile but it was having compatibility issues with my XSi for whatever reason so i just returned it and got my money back. I'm trying to stay away from EF-S lenses in case i ever upgrade to full frame in the future. If anyone can recommend me anything from experience with either the 50mm or 100mm please comment, thanks a lot.
Hey man, I have the 100mm f/2.8 Macro and highly recommend it. Here are some sample shots with it mounted to my 40D. This little guy was probably less than half an inch long. Note: both shots were converted from RAW and have not been sharpened or unaltered at all. The second shot shows just how amazing it's narrow depth of field is. The writing on the right is a fine print on the bottom of a flyer. The full-time manual USM is awesome since it will help you fine tune the desired focus. It was really hard to take photos of this guy since he's so small!***WARNING TO THOSE WHO HATE SPIDERS***
