he guys, i'm very new at this, i have a canon powershot sx 100, its a megazoom and its supposed to be the best camera for its price ($200) according toreview i've read. I am really interested in photography and want to learn as much as possible from the pros in this forum. I read the Manual that came withthe camera so that is the only experience i have. any and all comments are appreciated, I suck at taking indoor pictures, the only time they come out good forme is early in the morning when the sun is out, I can only shoot with natural sunlight, school me, and sorry for the oversized pics.

wayyy too many pics, bro.. chill out and pick your favorites, not each and every one please.. no offense at all,I'm just sure it's making everybody's browsers lag and freeze up

anyways, I've got a question for the SLR heads.. I've got a Yashica FX-70 that I've been using for a while now.. and I've had no problems withit whatsoever.. but today when I tried to shoot with it, the shutter wasn't working.. I'm pretty sure it's not my battery since the lightindicators in the viewfinder are still working.. what could be the problem?? I really need all the help I can get right now bc I was planning on using ittomorrow to shoot a school event.. thanks in advance

Some of your shots are over sharpened in my opinion. Could be from post processing, or from using the wrong software to re-size.

I have a question regarding printing digital pictures.

What would be the ideal dimensions of a digital photo to print at, say, 8x10? Would a photo with dimensions 2496 x 1664 be good/bad? Or am I approaching thisthe wrong way?

I'm interested in printing some of my shots, I just want some background info from those who have experience with this.

Also, can someone recommend a printing service? Thanks in advance.

You would be able to, but it wouldn't be the optimum quality. If it was around 3072 x 2304, then you would have better quality prints.
Why not get smaller prints, like 4x6 or 5x7?

ya, i thought of that. i was gonna just post up a few a day but decided it would take too long.
why would it bother you to see each and every one? you don't like them all? thats ok. i don't like a lot in this thread either but it doesn'tmatter.
i hope you don't think i'm taking offense in any way, but i'm still going to post them all. but i WILL post less per page. no problem. i agree withyou on that.

ya, a few were borderline for me. some pics just aren't as good as they could be. and then i sharpen them either not enough or too much and there isn'tan in between.
i use PS for both. could it be a photobucket issue?

which ones do you think are over done? names?

thanks.
