Just picked up a D40x today at CircuitCity. It was an opened box, but still. For under $350.00 out the door? I had to get it. My first picture taken with mynew baby.

I heard the Tokina 11-16 is probably the best wide angle lens for crop cameras. Most reviews say it is but i personally have not tried it.

Well the tokina is a f/2.8, faster than the Sigma 10-22 which is f/4-5.6 (plus about $200 difference)
I haven't seen many used tokina but I have seen a few Sigmas and the last one I saw for sale was $350 mint condition (on the good price side most placesare more)..
As far as the Sigma 30 1.4 I paid $320 used - new you could get it around $380-$420.

i got it for $450 meet up BRAND NEW from craigslist
here's a pre shot. i'll post some others as soon as i can. i'm going to the hospital cuz my cuzoo had a baby ha.aahah

I just read the reviews on the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8...and i think i am pretty much convinced and buying one next month.

Yeah it looks like an awesome lens, i was looking at the canon 10-22 but it's about $200 more. Yes it has more range but with a wide angle you tend to stayat the minimum mm distance so i'd probably only use the 11mm side. I have my Tamron 17-50 for after that range so i'm set. If you want to look atcomparison shots of the 11-16 compared to the Nikon 12-24, the Tokina is a whole lot better at 100% crops compared to the Nikon. Sick! I definitely might have to cop that lens if I make the switch over to Nikon. The distortion looks dope and will look good for skate photos.

ive read a lot of bad reviews on the quality of the 11-16... do some research on it. before i purchased my first wide angle, i looked into the tokina and justwasnt too thrilled with the reviews, especially on the iq.
i have the sigma 10-20, its amazing.
its been a minute since ive posted any of my pics, ill do a big upload to flickr tonight and put some on NT.
