elboricua 6: Some C&C for you.
On #1, not that it was your fault (more the Sun's), but the glare on the mask is kinda distracting. I'm sure it wasn't something you would have noticed at the time, but my attention went straight to that. Otherwise a well composed shot. I don't think the DoF could have been captured better--not too narrow, nor to wide. Great job.
On #2, the background is really really bright. If you shot in RAW, try selecting just the background and mess around with the levels in PS. It's 5AM so I won't try it now, but if I remember I'll try to show you what I would do. Once again, though, I like the shot. Placement of the subject is great. Almost gives the subject a creepy "stalker" sort of a presence. Not the right word[s], but the first word[s] that come to mind. (Chuck P. anyone?)
On #3, I personally do not like that much desaturation. I like the idea, but I would've gone for more of a sepia tone in the processing. With a shot composed of Earth tones, I personally think it lasts a little bit of contrast. At the same time though, it's hard to get the contrast in that light without losing the contrast between your low lows and your high highs in it. I would've toned down the desaturation just a tad and boosted the contrast a little. If you really want to spend some quality time with PS, you could try to get the levels just right. I have to tell you, though, one thing I try not to mess with in PS is levels because figuring them out is a pain in the $#*+. I definitely think about how much I don't want to have to mess with levels when I'm composing a shot because it's that much of a pain. Sometimes auto-levels just doesn't do it for me.
Keep in mind that these are all just my personal opinions. Great shots though. You definitely have an eye for great composition. Your shots seem well thought out before hand.
Luong1209: Probably the only time that this is a congratulatory statement, but "Congrats on the L".
Nike thanks for your C&C - much appreciated. It's always nice to know how someone else view your pictures.
All these pictures where PP in matter of seconds - People were hounding me about sending them out so I did something quick and poof they went. I have tons from these series and I will be posting some more ..
#1 I saw the glare, but it was more of a split minute picture - the guy went down on his knees do to the effects of the GAS and I quickly ran and snap - I also kept it because although the glare distracting (which it wasn't there) it draw you in to the gas mask and to his hand which is also a bit bright and to his ring .. that made it a keeper for me .. Something about the Gas mask and the weeding ring that make this picture really work well for me ....
#2 I totally agree with you on how bright the BG is, I was looking for a silhouette (kind of like what back did with the window) and it didn't work as I wanted it, but the picture it self really work because like you said, it looks like a psycho killer/stalker type of guy .. lol .. Here are a few more PP's that I did to that picture after I sent it out ...
#3 I really wanted to go with a dark and kind of old style mood for this picture but nothing I did I liked. I just posted the 1st one I did .. I wouldn't mind seeing what would you do with that picture as it would open ideas for me to mess with later on .. Here are a couple of more edits I had done for it as well ...
I even added noise to this one
Thanks for the C&C man - Always good to know how your pictures seat with someone else ..backtotheknown
Your last couple of pictures have been really good IMO
However I was wondering which one is your girl and which one is you on the last picture .. lmao .. j/k man!!
