so i found out today that APPLE decides to use my photos for one of their apps for the iPhone/iPod

awesome....sorta...

.....they never had permission to use my photo(s)

here are the photos they used.

we'll see how it goes.

Only a couple of those are "super wide" but they're still wide. Look around and you should find some used ones at a good price. Those arent allyour options either, just a quick search I did. If you want to go fisheye, go for the Nikon 10.5mm. Gabe got it for like $500? used.

Well that's cause we're in Canada.

The prices we have to deal with are complete rape. That's why I must resort to Craigslist or RFD whenever I buy something camera related.

I got my fisheye used (pretty much brand new) on craigsist for $550. The best thing about investing in these damn lenses is f you don't want it, you canflip them for almost as much as you paid for them.

Oh, and the 15mm fisheye on a crop body just looks like a wide angle sort of. If you really want to know what it looks like, Bobby Hundreds on his blog usedthat for years untill he got his Mark 2. At times it has a fisheye look but it seems to not have that great distortion that it would have on a full frame. Buton a cropped body, I would get that over a wide angle.....but that is just me.

You should look into taking action. If they're your pictures, then apple has no right to use them without your permission.

alot of great photos in here! ive been lurking alot aswell.. im still in love with the lightbox photos and the half shadowed faced pictures.. and Mr Fongstarryou are one lucky man.. ive been looking for the 10.5 lens around the LA area for that price as close to vvvvnds and cant find a single one.. there are morewanted post than anything.. well heres some of my pics let me know what you think more pics on my flickr flickr.com/kiddsoles

I know this is out of your price range, but supposed the Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 is the best super wide angle on the market.

i think it goes for about $650 USD. I know there's a couple of people here that has them. I can't wait to get mine...

Yeah that's what I'm afraid that on a Crop is not that noticeble, however on your pictures the distorition is great, so if/when I ever decide to buy itI will just get a 10mm. Right now I'm undecided in everything, new lens, new body, new girl - ups I slipped out .. j/k

In a situation like this, where apple or the owners of the prog is making revenue - you might want to pursue some kind of compensation. Even if its a couple ofhundred bucks -it's something ...

Most likely you are shooting under poor light conditions = slow shutter speed = to much hand or subj movement.

Try to increase the ISO just a tad bit during those conditions or get better lighting ..

Shoot during daytime - use a tripod - turn IS off (some lens) .. we are quick to blame the lens when infact is us making the mistake ...

IMO you are doing it BIG -

I can be doing shoots for my boys www.iceblocmusic.com but I choose not to .. I rather chill with them and meet allthe artist than look like a herb taking pictures .. so far I have met tones to include and not limite to Dj Khaled - Ryan Lesli - TO- Bustha - Jerry Rice(which try to hit on JKeys Wife) - man a bunch of people .. I think next time I might take my cam - Ibizza in DC will be popping next Friday where they'llbe performing ...
