movie theatre etiquette vol worst movie experiences

I hate beta *** people. I went to go watch 21 & over. Movie theater was crowded af and I finally found a pair of seats that were somewhat decent. I asked this asian guy who looked like your typical 3.5 GPA student who is taking at least 3 AP classes. He was by himself and I asked him were the two seats beside him, taken. I didn't care that the dude was by himself because you can do whatever the F you want to do (word to TMW). He said "no" in a timid way like he wasn't used to socializing. I was like alright, cool. I then proceed to fetch my friend who was sitting in our back up seats in case I couldn't find any better ones. So we went back up and mind you, it has only been less than a minute since I retrieved my friend. I came back up and a couple was ready to swoop the seats that I already had asked the loner guy to reserve for me. I told the couple that I had the seats saved by that guy and they said that they just found these seats and the dude said nothing about it being taken. I told the loner guy to vouch for me, by now all 4 of us were just looking at him. He stared blankly into the screen and gave a shrug. I told the dude to tell the couple that you agreed to reserve the seats for me. The dude said I don't know how to tell them :smh: . Holy **** , this dude was beta af. Got me heated because this guy couldn't grow a back bone and keep his word. Now to make things worse, our back up seats were taken so we had to settle for worse than said back up seats. :smh: :smh: :smh: No wonder dude was sitting alone, dude lack all sorts of social skills. I know that ish wasn't serious but dude really needs to grow a back bone or some confidence.
Ok first of all, my GPA is a 3.867
Second of all, i liked the couple better than i liked you

If you were alpha you would've taken the seats from the couple with no dambs given. But you took your beta *** and settled for the less than ideal seats.

lmao

Loud trashy people who think the movie theatre when a film is going on is their social hour to act like they've never been in a public setting before.

I've been on no tolerance mode for ignorant behavior at the movie theaters the past few years though. The tickets keep going up more and more in price and I want a quality expierence when I go. If I have to deal with loud annoying behavior, rather then get in an avoidable conflict trying to quiet the loudmouths down, I complain to management about the terrible expierence I had and either get refunded or free tickets to a future show. I've done this a few times because I shouldn't spend hard earned money on a movie ticket and have a terrible expierence because people don't know how to act.

Man im black and even I have to admit.. Ghetto black dudes take it too far.

Watching a horror movie...

"Aw hell naw *****! You know she gon get popped when she open that door! White people always doin stupid **** id be outta that muh****a!"

Watching a comedy movie

"THIS ***** FUNNY AS ****! Ahhhhh *Attempts to be like said comedian for the remainder of the movie*".

Watching a action movie

"***** that **** was dope! Bet fiddy if I was shootin at that ***** idda been hit em doe."

The list goes on.

People who constantly push the back of your seat whether with their knee or foot.

This. One time I turned around and told this middle aged lady to stop kicking my seat and she wouldn't stop. Her husband also was a big douche. He needed to go to leave in the middle of the movie and he couldn't get his fat *** up off of the seat so he pushed himself up by reclining the 2 seats (which happened to be mine and my cousins) in front of him for support to stand up. On top of all else they brought a bunch of 4 year olds who can't hold their bladders for more than 40 minutes.

I used to be a movie theatre manager at a regal and the way people behave is unbelievable. You guys know though that if families with babies or toddlers are being obnoxious in a movie theatre and you guys tell a manager it's their job to kick them out. Also if you go to the movies after 6 your asking for a bad movie experience. But that's common sense.

Most people work normal hours and the weekends are a Free For All.

- People talking. I am very tolerant when it comes to some annoying actions people take, but for the first time last year, I had to get up and change my seat at the theater, when I saw Lincoln. These two ladies were talking behind me, and discussing things from their personal lives, to what was taking place on screen. One kept making this, "Mmm hmm," sound everytime she agreed with something, or found something said in the movie to be profound.

- Infants / toddlers.

- Autistic people making loud noises.

havent had 'bad' movie experiences.

but things that are close to that...
-someone brought a dog to the theatre
-dislike it when people are in and out of the movie. one dude kept going in and out of the theatre. bladder problem or checking his phone i guess

the worst thing that can happen at the movies are people talking. Or when its a comedy movie and someone gets the jokes 2 mins later and yells out "oh! AHAHAHA" my aunt is notorious for that ****... :smh:

Another thing.

Going to the movies with a ******ed friend or girl. I saw Inception with this girl I was trying to smash and every five minutes she's asking "Wait, what jus happened?"***** Wikipedia that **** when you get home I'm trying to watch the movie.

so what are the steps to getting a refund if you have obnoxious people near you?

It kind of depends. If there were no complaints from the theatre and a person is asking for a refund five minutes before the movie ends management may assume that a person is pulling a fast one. But if you at some point told management that people were being disruptive and then at the end of the show you tell them that it never got any better they are supposed to give you a refund. At that point it became management’s fault for not creating a good movie going experience. Its not a perfect system i know.

And to the guy above, if you work on the weekdays you can always try and see the first showing on saturday or sunday. Those usually have no people in them.

I don't mind people cracking jokes here & there during a movie... But every now & then when you get that one person who just isn't funny doing in through out the whole movie :x  :smh:

its funny when I was a teen in hs I was a part of the obnoxious group at the movie theatre. As I've gotten older (32) I truly hate teenagers that do that at the theatre. I've also changed up when and where I watch movies. I goto the theatre's where you can choose your seats and see what seats are available or even watch a movie on a weekday during the day if I'm off work. I can't tolerate people answering their phones during a movie and talking out loud. C'mon take that outside.

I've had this happen, feeling like you're on a damn roller coaster or some ish.

I went with my boys to watch a movie once and while we were about to sit I see this group of middle eastern dudes sitting in the row behind us with their bare feet on our headrest

. I give my boy the "

c'mon bruh, these dudes serious?" look and they just look at us like we were trippin' for no reason. We kept it moving and found some other seats.

   this is all hilarious to me cuz I work at a theater. I've seen it all. I hate them all. But I don't do anything anymore since I work box office and my coworkers have to deal with it.

The most annoying thing are the teenagers. I've kicked out so many of them and laugh every time cuz they look so sad when I do.

I hate when:

-people bump my seat
-talk throughout the movie
-having text convos ( haven't stumbled on that but it'll happen)

Are there cameras inside the theaters that record what the people do? I wonder how many people get caught on tape f**king at the movies?

Nah. At least in my theater, no. I'm really cool with the security at my work and they said they see all of that on a daily basis.
