29 or not he is a high character guy for sure. Military guy if I remember. If who I remember, his story was really cool when Dallas drafted him. It completely fits what we want, high character and defensive guy with budding offensive game.

That being said I still would love to take a chance on Oden. The potential for a talent is absolutely no comparison. Oden way higher "risk" I suppose though. And he does have 85 year old man knees (and face)

especially for a guy who's only looking at spot minutes playing 10-20 mpg on any given night.

Well James is moot at this point since he is gonna resign for minimum, but I just don't see how Oden is unsafe. Give him a (much cheaper) version of the deal Bynum has. Absolutely no risk for team if they are willing to spend a couple mil. If he pans out you have a team option for one or two more years and a hell of a trade piece. If he doesn't, say bye bye. We have been paying guys a lot more to sit on our bench for years.

Apparently Sac has the longest shot of landing Oden anyways. New Orleans is looking to offer him around $3mil, we only have $2.5mil.

Reading 'Put Me In Coach' by one of Oden's good friends thru out HS and college, I feel like Sacramento for sure would be his preferred destination since he wants to be as far away from the spotlight as possible from what I gathered in that book.

I know exactly what you mean. Its like he knows whats expected and what needs to be done..... but somehow he's not gonna follow the program, veer of course, all the while thinking he's doing what is being asked of him
