Random question but what made Chris Webber stay when he was a free agent in 2001?

I'm watching a broadcast of their last playoff game in 2001 and it looked bleaker than Dwight Howard in Los Angeles. They actually had an interview with him where he says "you have to understand it wasn't my choice to come here in the first place." And Jim Gray reports it's virtually certain he's leaving. Or was Jim Gray just the original Broussard?

Also when was Jason Williams traded? Before or after he re-signed?

$123 million and the Kings had a good thing going.

And the Williams-Bibby trade happened during Draft night, so prior to his re-signing.

Can players get their teams fined for tampering? I remember when Webber's free agency was coming Shaq mentioned he thought he'd look good in a Lakers uniform.

The California Fair Political Practices Commission told us that they have officially opened an investigation into the anti-Arena campaign.

I really don't want to believe the Maloofs would stoop to this...... but nothing else really makes sense

*grabs popcorn*

This should be interesting.

Speaking of popcorn. STA's popcorn is so damn salty. I should have just ordered the chicken tender basket.

#ICYMI: Sacramento city council agrees to assist Kings in land negotiations for new arena http://t.co/TNzFKYmWf3

Hopefully it doesn't come to eminent domain...... but I'm sure the NY firm will come to an agreement with the Kingss group soon

It would be a very interesting use of Eminent Domain IMO. From a legal standpoint, how do you argue taking land from one business to give it to another that you favor more? Either way though, I really think that the city will get their way since the rest of DP will be demolished, so it doesn't give Macy's much standing since it's already dead over there from what I've heard so I'm sure they're just playing hardball at this point since they hold the cards.

I agree, the site that is in question is the Macy's Mens store and they are already in the process of moving out into the women's side of the store on the other end of the block.

These dudes are just tryna get all the $$$ they can. Can't really fault them I suppose, kinda sucks the new owners aren't local tho

Damn, Seattle/Chris Hansen were the ones funding STOP

Last person in the world I would have expected to be behind this, seriously.

Thought the dude was a real stand up guy. Not on some snakey Maloof steeze :smh: :smh:

I'm still trying to figure out the angle he was trying to come from with this. After all the rallying the city did, he really though that he could circumvent the arena initiative with a ballot measure? And trying to hide that he was behind it? I really hope they hit him with a LARGE fine for this type of thing. And the law firm too since they've helped organize other ballot measures in the past too.

The 'rumor' out of Seattle is that it was approved by the NBA.

Ya good one.

What are they putting in the water in Seattle? It seems they're really good at starting rumors up there in the PNW, and the water is making them believe their own lies. That could be problematic, someone should check into that.

They did legalize weed for recreational use, so there may be a correlation there somewhere.
