Nipsey Hussle Thread; The Marathon Continues

An album would prove to us that he can make a exceptional studio/in store release and cement him with the other West Coast up & coming talent and future.

As a matter of fact, shouldn't Nipsey be categorized as a veteran in the game now?

Everything you said he's done already

Dude been making albums since 11'... It's a lot of trash in best buy and target that I wouldn't buy so why would I need a retailer to validate what's good music?

Yeah but those are free albums. Not an actual studio effort. Not the same thing, my man.

**** the middleman

what?

are you slow? serious question...no disrespect.
I just assume he is and give him the benefit of the doubt

Literally 90% of the things I see him post have some sort of
indifferent.gif
aspect to them
No disrespect to the man but Dipset is the stupidest individual I've ever come across whether we're talking on the internet or in real life. Dude is just simple.  You just gotta let that dude sit around picking his nose.

where yo money at is my new fav track off this tape :pimp:

I didn't even had to read the track name, all I had to do was listen to the first 5 seconds to know that it was a dj mustard beat

I haven't decided if I'm even going to check out this new tape yet. The first Nipsey song I heard was Crenshaw & Slauson (True Story) and I was blown away. So I downloaded the Crenshaw tape and...

Little did I know that Nipsey uses the same "flow" on pretty much every single song . The spoken-word, pause-after-every-line style worked extremely well on Crenshaw & Slauson because the song didn't really have a beat per se, but that seems to be his general "style" which I find to be lazy to the point of irritation. His content mostly seems to consist of bland and overused gangsta rap cliches. It just seems like he doesn't try at all for the most part. I think he could be a great MC if he actually personalized his material more and made an effort with his flow, lyrics, and concepts (see "Face The World").

Does he have more material on this new tape or elsewhere that he actually makes an attempt at what might be considered a "flow" and goes beyond cookie-cutter gangsta content? I've only listened to the Crenshaw tape...
I loved that crenshaw and slauson track, especially the 3rd part that starts at around 7:57

What?

U know what, nvm don't even try to break this down man

Ok.

I don't think a slow person would be able to form complete sentences, like I am able to. Are you special/slow?

This ain't the early 00's, _'s don't need to sign to a major and put out albums to make money. Mixtapes are pretty much albums now.

True

Oh, the irony of this post. :rolleyes

You clearly don't even know what your talking about. Internet thug over here. Wouldn't dare say that to my face.

I'm trying to put that Crenshaw mixtape on a CD so I can play it in my car. But iTunes is telling me that it's too big to burn on one CD. I'm thinking it's because of that long "Crenshaw and Slauson" track. Is there anyway to shorten it so I can finally have my CD? :nerd:

Same exact reason why I came into this thread. I feel like I ned a studio album from Nip to see what all the hype is about.

Just asking what's the difference between his "mixtapes" and what would be an "album". I mean Crenshaw was beyond amazing so if you haven't checked him out yet you need to wake up.

Count up that loot is piff :pimp:

Why do people care about things like this?

Mixtape, albums, numbers, etc etc. It doesn't even matter at the end of the day.

Just enjoy the music. It's none of anyone concern about all that extra except the artist. Why should it matter to you if he has a release thats "in store"? It makes no difference to you financially either way.

So just enjoy what we got.

I'm not attacking you or anything, but its like when people go into stats vs actual visual performance.

Like yeah, _______ shot 15 for 44, but did you see the alley oop? Did you see him posterize the defender coming down the lane? Did you see the flashy no look pass?

Thats all that should matter as a consumer. Let all that other stuff matter to the persons making the money from it.

All that matters is what we hear. Was that **** hard? Yeah? Was it a mixtape? An album? Don't matter. How much he sell? I don't care. As long as I got my copy.

People care for stuff like that cause it shows how an artist measures up with their credentials and stats.

But what credentials? What stats? What does that get YOU at the end of the day?

Na'amsayin?

Credentials and stats.... Sell millions of records for a label and have no control over your art your craft
