I"m much happier of the quality on the turbos as opposed to the tarts. The tongue length on them, also a different material, is the perfect length.

Have a couple of pairs of the tarts though. The material on the tongue is also different on the turbos. It seems like a lot of people are getting different flaws on their pairs. I haven't tried my 14 lava's yet because I can't get over how they botched the cw. I still have my 08's so going to wear those in the meantime.

I think the quality control is just pretty random yea. I have a pair of tarts where ALL the white splashes are matched up horribly to the edges. Have another pair without the issue. Both my lava pairs seemed to have had the best quality control. No problems with the hot lava pattern being way off like the one pair of tarts I have. Lava mid soles are also the cleanest of all the cws I've seen in person (one is a little worse than the other). Seems like every mid sole I see has dirt/soot on it to some varying degree.

How trustworthy is this Taiwanese guy with the Royals? I wouldn't mind getting the pre-release, the same as I did with the Aussie Bursts. I know I could abuse buyer protection on eBay if they turn out to be counterfeit, but it'd be a hassle sending them half way across the world and waiting on a refund etc.

I think they just cut & paste the otherwise generic description from a previous listing (and the LeBron number was copied over with it). The number on the title of the listing seems to match up with the shoe on a google search, but since it hasnt been announced yet through any non-Taiwanese suppliers, it would be hard to verify.
I think the pics speak for themselves, and along with the positive score of the seller, makes it worth a shot in my opinion...
is the shoe hot enough for them to be making counterfeits? if so, why not the kumquats???

If you have worries, I'd say to hold off.
For one, it's my understanding that it can be tough to get refunds for fakes and it can take while when successful. Also, the return shipping isn't negligible.
That said, I'm usually pretty liberal in taking these kinds of chances. But, if you're not really even getting a deal in the first place, I don't like the value proposition.

I just ordered a pair of royals... ill let y'all know what's up when they arrive.
I ordered the Kumquats a while back for 200, and it turned out the seller (a different seller) "accidentally" posted the kumquats when they were really getting the clays.... so they shipped me the clays and credited me $25.00... but i still got stuck overpaying for a shoe i didn't mean to order in the first place.
Fingers crossed this isn't the same type of situation... but since the seller's name was tagged in the product pic it seems legit...

So, I was curious about how the pairs were doing on TW, so I tried looking for them and couldn't find them anywhere. Then searched the blog...nothing. Then searched for their FB post...nothing. Then found SinnerP's link, and it's now dead. I'm guessing they didn't get the shipment, and are now deleting anything having to do with it.

Because the seller should never have shipped in the first place if it was truly the "accident" he/she claimed.
I mean, if you like the shoe and would have copped at retail, and the return shipping is basically the same cost as the difference between what you paid and retail, then I guess you just have to take the L. But, assuming you could land another pair for retail, I'd be tempted to send it back even if you are just "breaking even" after shipping, just on principle.
Accidents happen - but when something happens that is actually an accident, the person makes an attempt to rectify it. Seems like this person just found a creative way to sell Clays for 175 when they are selling at retail or below on ebay.

The thing was they posted the listing before they received the shipment, and used stock pics... Then they shipped out the clays before they realized the mistake. The seller emailed me about the mistake while they were in transit, saying I could return them or get some $ back...Can't be that upset; they made your avi.

When i got them I wasn't sure what the demand would be when they got released (was scared cause of the whole lava fiasco), so I just decided to keep them so I could wear them a few weeks before everyone else while avoiding all the hassle of returning and reordering.

Kinda sucks - put you in a position where you basically had to predict the future.
I actually thought the Clays would do better (I wonder if they might have if they were the first color to release).
I kind of underestimated the following for this shoe (maybe underestimated the Yeezy factor :x) and assumed since they were so available last release that everybody might not be jumping for them now. Last release, it was the Clays that were harder to find - not necessarily in greater demand, but just harder to find. I ultimately got my pair via phone order from an outlet in Portland.

Very shocked to see the royal/infrareds finally get a retro release. That being said, I can't wait to have a wearable pair after all this time. Hopefully this means that Nike is willing to take some chances and release some of the other unretroed models/colorways throughout the line.
