🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD - ATC II 2024 Hot Lava “aged” retro 🎾

I've just been offered a pair of DS '08's for cheapish. Is it worth getting them or should I just wait it out for the new ones? I know the quailty on the '08's was pretty bad.

I didn't think the '08's were *that* bad.  Toebox might be a bit high, but it might be the same for the '14's.  If you do go with the '14's, know that the lava splatter has a glossy finish to it.

Exactly. The toe box could have been a little bit better but those complaining about it probably never owned the og pairs. There is barely a noticeable difference. Especially with people complaining about the leather. It was never like the leather of the US Open's so I wouldn't want it to be that way on the retro for the lavas.

I had the originals & the 08 retro toebox is awful - nothing like the shape of the originals
so you're wrong twice
 
the mold on these looks improved from the 08 imo, sleeker
& the color tones , especially the grey, look better too

the only negative on these new ones (compared to 08s) looks to be the shiny lava paint on the upper imo
the leather is what it is - 08 or 14 - so it's a non-factor if one wants a retro pair

After recent III, IV and V J's I've stopped worrying about the "leather". I guess they're using Tech Grey this time around. If they're sleek though that will be good. The III were really wide.

Wrong twice about what? I said it was barely noticeable with the toebox but didn't say there was no difference! Like SinnerP and I were saying, it's not that drastic of a difference. If the lava on the 14 retro is as shiny as it appears in pics, that would annoy me more. I also said that these would hit US stores this month and a lot of people said I was wrong about that.

Yes i know this ... i was never saying they werent releasing i was just referring about it being released this friday

Anyways ... whenever they do drop ill be ready ( unless its some random time that im not checkin NT)
 
I'm hitting Footpatrol first thing then. I've been debating on selling my Wimbledon, and just sticking with Lava's. If I can cop the Aus tomorrow, I'll hunt down some US's, and then wait on the French's. Be good to have the whole set.

I need these but I'm working tomorrow and won't be able to get down there, they have grown on me from seeing more pictures. These have
 
TBH I only like the Wimbledon. I don't wear black shoes other than V's and these aren't particularly attractive. It's just a purchase for collection purposes really. I can do an uber eBay listing of all four pairs later down the line I guess.
 
Lol. PM box going crazy about the Aus. If anybody can get me a US Open in a US 10, I'll straight trade for a pair of Aus in any size providing I can get them tomorrow.
 
i can see these being a surprise release like the AM1 FB mints.

not being on the release calendar and just tweeting out some random tweet at a random time that everyone ignores.
