The 2007 retro was so awesome, there should be more demand for those!

A backhand clinic at 1:32.
He takes the ball so, so early.  Such an underrated shot, IMO.

I've posted this before, but...

I went TTS on the retros too, but felt the toebox to be a bit roomy.  Always wondered how'd they fit 1/2 down.

And I've posted this before but it's a great slow mo of his forehand and backhand.

I notice he has Adidas on so this must be when he was in his twilight years. I would be interested to see how his forehand and backhand looked in slo mo when he was in his early years.

yea, need the flares to be discounted already. scoop those for 80ish but im coppin the III's for retail, second pair on disco

^ The slo-mo was during that 'world team tennis' thing after he retired, but overall, I don't think his groundies have changed that much.  Very early in his career, on his BH, he'd sometimes release his left hand after the follow-through (like swinging a bat, I guess), but I didn't notice it that much during his career.

His service motion and position changed more, I think... the angle of where he stood on the baseline was different as well as where he leg landed after the follow through.  He used to land on his right leg in his earlier years, while later one he'd land on his left leg.

He hit the ball flat more earlier in his career and would go for broke when going for winners. But the motion of the ground strokes never really changed. He got more comfortable at net as his career progressed as well.

I wonder what goes into deciding whether to paint that bit or leave it white?

Who Knows. But I love it, and wish they would do it more often. It gives the shoe a little more pop, and that's what the Max 90's are missing. I imagine Nike changed it on the 90's because that shoe is more popular, and Im sure they received complaints on how dirty that part can get when white. I never cared, I always clean my shoes.

I didnt know many people even cared if that bit was white or painted

Yeah, I care a lot.

Its a small detail, but very important to me. So much, that I have to paint any Max 90 that I have after 2004.

I love how that small detail made this OG Sample V look. I wish they would've released like this.

I think it gives an illusion that the air unit is deeper than it is. If that makes any sense. I also seem to notice the air unit more when its bordered with white and not color matched
